Pieces of a Black man is still one of my favorite tracks from AZ. The Format and Aziatic were low key classics. AZ is timeless and I still dream of an album with AZ and Nas, featuring Raekwon and Ghostface, Black Thought and The Lox. That would be classic.

AZ Pieces of a Black Man def helped me as a youth come to a knowledge of self. So many jewels in his rhymes looking back. Admist all the street talk he def was a part of helping to uplift his people. I was at the crib waitin to by some bag from my guy Carlos across the street...when he got home he called me to come thru n he told me he just bought "Stillmatic". The day it released. He didnt even listen to the cd until I got over there like 5 mins later. We listened to the first track "Got Yourself a Gun" n then when "Ether" came on...omg...we went nuts. We blew like 2-3 blunts listening to tht album n heard "Ether" @ least 5x's during tht sesh. One of the best days of my life.

His verse on Firm Fiasco, Mo Money/Mo Murda/Mo Homicide, Sugar Hill "so until we see past the green pastures...", "Quiet Money" with Half-a-Mil etc. And that's me off the top of my head as a 12-year-old getting those CD's, not even getting deeper into Pieces of a Man or his last 25 years.
