I am a guy. My mother passed away a month ago. She was a great knitter. Weeks before she fell ill to the hospital I expressed to her my interest in learning how to crochet. She taught me eagerly and happily. I kept practising but when she fell ill I stopped. Now I am resuming and I want to honour my mother by learning more until I become as skilled as my mother. Thanks for the tutorial.

My condolences to you and your family for the loss of your mother. That’s a tough one. 😢🙏 Stay with Crystal and you will learn to make anything you ever thought you couldn’t make. She is by far the best crochet teacher I have ever watched. And as a bonus, she’s the sweetest and most humble person. Wishing you much success and pleasure on your crochet journey.

I'm so sorry that you lost your mom first of all. That is a pain like no other. I think she would be very proud of you right now because what you were doing is a tribute to her and you couldn't have come to a better group of people and a better teacher, I have been with this group for years and if you want to learn to crochet this is the place to begin. God bless you.

Love this stitch. I had been working on a blanket for almost a year (took unplanned breaks, moved, got a new job which requires a lot of my "free time") i began working on it recently. I was doing a triple stitch. Somehow during this year i forgot where to start the new row. I laid it out and realized i lost stitches in the middle but somehow gained them back. Blanket looks hour glass shaped. I have to start over. .. i decided to find a "quicker, easier" stitch. I began last night (not non stop) but I'm already on row 5. 334 stitches across! Its already looking beautiful. Thank you so mich!

Oh. My. Goodness...this is the best blanket stitch EVER! I've done plenty of crocheting, but am by no means accomplished and the afghan I am making is working up more quickly than any other stitch I've ever used. The two things I love most are that it is a pretty mindless stitch pattern and the blanket remains VERY straight, which is something that I've really had trouble with in the past. This would be a great stitch for a baby blanket because you could get it done in no time flat! I also learn by watching crochet videos and this tutorial is excellent. I'll try to remember to post a pic when this blanket is done :)

I found the video on the thicket stitch and after watching many times felt that I could follow your instructions. I appreciate that you go slow and repeat the stitch and guide me through the stitches. Hey you, and my favorite one to turn to when I want a simple stitch. Making throws for family. This stitch is my favorite. The thicket stitch. No matter what yarn used, it turns out awesome. My trows that I make will be given to my very special peeps. Family, friends and anyone that has thrown a kindly "HELLO" Some one that knows me as I walk into a business. whether it be a gas station, or maybe even a comment in Walmart. Or the waitress that give us a beer after a long days work. You all are appreciated, so very much. This is why I crochet.........to give back. when you give an almost stranger a hand made throw. It will mean the world to them. And they will never forget the moment.

Well I watched the tutorial tonight and I'm making my five month old grand son a baby blanket. Nothing fancy and something easy. I live in north Alabama and it gets cold in the winter time. My daughter has lot of beautiful keepsake blankets. The kind that you want to keep spotless forever. That's not what I make. I call it a car blanket. Getting the kids in and out of the cars can be cold. So what i make needs to probably just stay in the car and that way they can just snuggle up while riding to and from day care the grocery store...you get the picture. So im giving this stitch a try instead of making a big granny square. Plus I use very colorful yarn to help learn their colors.

I love that in every video you emphasize that the “chain one” doesn’t count as a stitch. I learned how to crochet by reading a book. It was difficult to follow at times. I wasn’t sure if I should go though the whole stitch or just a part of it. It is so much easier to work when I’ve got a person to watch. I just ordered some rainbow yarn and might very well use this stitch for it. Thanks so much!

I had done something similiar, before, so I decided to just try this without knowing what I was doing. Funny thing.. i even did the single across the first row like you did. Now I know what it is called. I was calling it the" Patti was frustrated and just made up her own stitch" stitch. The real name is much easier to remember. I love the yarn you used for this. I am making a gradient starting with an unusual whitish yarn, and then shades of glacier greens to dark greens. Idk how it will look, so I may end up using the yarn you did. Thanks for the tutorial, Crystal!

I really like the texture of the stitch. It reminds me of the trinity stitch. It also looks really good with that yarn.

Premier Puzzle yarn Color = Backgammon is what I'm using. Uncle Rich will like the color as well as the close stitch. Thanks again Crystal.

I am using this Stitch with a Caron ombre called white water to make a throw/lapghan for my sister. I love it! Such an easy stitch and repeat. Thought I could attach a picture here but guess not. I just started crocheting last fall and have learned a lot from your videos. Thank you!! Recently found your blog and am enjoying those videos as well.

I'm new to your channel. I've been binging your tutorials. I learned to crochet years ago, but raising kids precluded me from pursuing my hobbies. I'm retired now and have started crocheting again. My next project is making an afghan for my daughter. I really enjoy your videos and you've given me so many choices. Thank you for sharing!!
