I am a guy. My mother passed away a month ago. She was a great knitter. Weeks before she fell ill to the hospital I expressed to her my interest in learning how to crochet. She taught me eagerly and happily. I kept practising but when she fell ill I stopped. Now I am resuming and I want to honour my mother by learning more until I become as skilled as my mother. Thanks for the tutorial.

My condolences to you and your family for the loss of your mother. That’s a tough one. 😢🙏 Stay with Crystal and you will learn to make anything you ever thought you couldn’t make. She is by far the best crochet teacher I have ever watched. And as a bonus, she’s the sweetest and most humble person. Wishing you much success and pleasure on your crochet journey.

I'm so sorry that you lost your mom first of all. That is a pain like no other. I think she would be very proud of you right now because what you were doing is a tribute to her and you couldn't have come to a better group of people and a better teacher, I have been with this group for years and if you want to learn to crochet this is the place to begin. God bless you.

Condolences on having 2 say bye 2 ur mom. I'm glad u had da opportunity 2 learn some of da craft from her before her passing. There's lots of ppl who post a slew of info, for u 2 learn more from. Try many of da creations from several sites...there's so much variety available! THAT is something I wish I had done before mine suddenly went 2 her heavenly home...huge regret of mine. I made my first garment kind of by accident 😉using this stitch. It ended up being a summer top. It was basically two rectangles crocheted to my size . I seamed the shoulders and sides and put a little cap sleeve on and called it done. I love this stitch for so many items.

Thank you for explaining and showing a lot of the stitches on the row. Some people just do 2 or 3 and stop. I have memory problems and I can't do complicated stitches because I lose count. My work ends up with holes in it so I don't try complicated fan patterns etc. I wish I could I love them. I like how you go through the stitches slowly and show where the hook has to go so thank you, you are helping me and I appreciate it. 😊

The yarn you used is perfect for this stitch! Love the way it looks. I’ve seen this as the “Suzette stitch,” but “thicket stitch” is a much better descriptive name. Taught myself to crochet wash cloths last fall. I am inconsistent when crocheting the last stitch on either side. I finally came across your video and I am so glad that I did. I found the video on the thicket stitch and after watching many times felt that I could follow your instructions. I appreciate that you go slow and repeat the stitch and guide me through the stitches. I am pleased with my first (6 inch/40 chains) test piece but I am not picking up the last stitch at the end on each side. My work dips in. Thank you for your video and descriptions - you are the best!
