Some facts about tin cookie/pastry cutters 😍The first cookie cutters were made in the 15th century. However, the first known record of cookie cutters in America were made by tinsmiths sometime around 1720 in Connecticut. England wanted to monopolize production of metal, including tin so they banned the manufacturing of tin in the American Colonies. Tin had to be shipped to the colonies where it was then used to make all sorts of cookware. Cookie cutters were usually made from leftover scraps of tin. After the American Revolution, tin was allowed to be made in America making it easier than ever before to get access to cheaper tin goods.

Very delicious mince pie Mistress Justine! I can't use the orange peel in mine because my brother has allergies to oranges. I also like to use raisins, both golden and regular, plus I use ground cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves. That is our traditional holiday pie. We grew up having it at Thanksgiving or Christmas, unfortunately we are the only two who eat it. His wife, kids and grandkids don't care for it. Oh well, more for the two of us!

One thing I would like to see is more of the frugality of using every bit of food, including leftover pie crust bits. Justine and Ron have gotten more prosperous than in those days where there was no meat for a month, but Justine should still be using every bit of everything. And the leftovers of the meals showcased on the Frontier Patriot would be a good start.
