People chalk it up to plot convenience that Ren lost both arounds. While I can’t deny that, bear in mind, Battle Crusher Duke halves all attacks (including ability and gate cards) in both rounds UNLESS the Battle Gear itself is disengaged (like with Jesse’s Gear Barricade Gate Card) or possibly the ability is nullified (and I don’t think BG ability were ever shown have that happen.

Its funny if to consider the fact that linehalt has a "banned strength". In his last battle he could almost destroy the planet, and even won the emperror borodius. After that all he is again fighting with "simple Aranot"

Two words: plot convenience But it might be because battle crusher halves the effect of all of opponent's abilities
