BAKWAS LIFE: INDIAN PAKISTANI Mother in Laws! What is wrong with them!?

There are many South Asian women that have suffered at the hands of their Mother-in-Laws. In many cases, it has led to the breakdown of the daughter-in-laws marriage as well as resultant trauma from a variety of abuses that have been committed against her. Why do South Asian mother-in-laws have such a bad reputation for these types of behaviours? And what can be done to stop this continuing?

I think that's a very deep and very important issue. People get sick and shortened lifespan because of living with people who are overbearing, intrusive and think everything should be their way. This women perpetuating the tradition of abuse they've been probably subjected to in their youth.

@@Shahleena at the time, as often is.. their son is portrayed as the best thing since sliced bread (arranged marriages). Once married, unfortunately reality bites in that mother in laws turn vile and toxic and their ‘sent from the Gods’ son turns out to be nothing more than a dead beat man child.

My mother-in-law from Pakistan acts like it is the end of the world if I do not speak to her for several months or weeks - I myself to not see what the point is in talking one or two hours to her - I consider it a waste of time. She blamed or asked why I was not able to conceive children as if it would be my fault. She also thinks that it is not o.k if I search for my sister-in-law who is single online a rishta or through a marriage bureau.She keeps telling me that it is not the norm to search online in Pakistan.When I searched in a marriage bureau for my sister

my MIL was much nicer before i moved in ... we still live under one roof but i literally avoid her & luckily my husband is appreciative of me not pushing to move out or constantly arguing over this with him. it`s ridiculous. i have been married for 7 years and still have nothing that`s mine in the kitchen & if i dare to move anything or add anything, it ends either in the bin or the shed ..., or "accidently" breaks itself... LOL. we also dont have any children because of my health issues & i feel like that`s a problem as well. but honestly, i dont live my life to please my husband`s mother. i have some days when i am upset, but i would just say & advise to any of my sisters/friends: if u can afford to then move out & if u r willing to stay living with extended family then protect your mental health at all costs.

Don't know about Pakistan, but India has changed a lot where women are financially independent now, super busy with their careers after marriage, don't take husband's surname, don't live with her in laws to a point where she's the oppressor now with her fake dowry and domestic violence cases not just for the husband but for his entire family, high alimony after divorce even though she has her own money, and weaponizing the child against the father. Make a video on this too.

Luckily, my hubby moved to London from Birmingham when we got married. I feel sorry for women who have to deal with so much trauma from living with their in-laws. People need to think if their own children were treated badly by their in-laws how would they feel then? I love your eyebrows MashAllah. They ways look on point!

It goes like this. ....you torture your daughter-in-law. Your daughter-in-law gives birth to a son. Your grandson brings home a grand-daughter-in-law. Your daughter-in-law then torture/abuses your grand-daughter-in-law. The cycle continues. I have seen it with my own eyes.
