Thanks Athon - I hope you can visit Balabac soon, it’s so 😍 It seems it’s the puffer fish as other viewer said, but we didn’t step on it (haha with my luck, that is a miracle🤣) It seems it is that toxic fish that only trained chefs in Japan know how to cook 😱 “Almost all pufferfish contain tetrodotoxin, a substance that makes them foul tasting and often lethal to fish. To humans, tetrodotoxin is deadly, up to 1,200 times more poisonous than cyanide. There is enough toxin in one pufferfish to kill 30 adult humans, and there is no known antidote.” www.nationalgeographic.com/animals/fish/facts/pufferfish

When did you go to Balabac? Have you been to El Nido in July? Can you go when it is rainy season? Thank you . Great videos super like 😄👍
@roamaniacs Жыл бұрын
Hi, we went to Balabac on the first week of June. Our videos in El Nido are from June, we had good weather, a few rapid showers here and there (as you can see in the “El Nido by Kayak” video) but nothing to ruin our plans. However, we knew we are staying for longer so we didn’t really panic if we had a rainy day 😊 We spent May to late July in the Philippines last year and we didn’t see much rain. Maybe 5-6 days in total out of 80 days :)

theres a new popular tour near in that area going to tubataha reef- considered as worlds heritage site and known for incredible marine biodiversity and number one spot of best diving in the Philippines. However the slot going there is limited so you have to plan going there. Its considered the best experience ever for some.

@@roamaniacs i appreciate your effort, your editing skills and with that excellent drown shots that truly captures the beauty of the Philippines. @roamaniacs2 жыл бұрын
@@ryangonzaga3370 thanks, your feedback is much appreciated 🙏 We interact a lot with locals, it’s just most of the time we feel shy to capture them on camera. We like to genuinely speak with people and share stories and we often feel that capturing those moments on camera might feel like us taking advantage of locals just to grow our channel (which we know that happens often in the Philippines, vloggers know this is a good community to grow a channel) Our personal experience with the Filipinos and the country is different, we worked many many years with them in cruise ships (2009-2017) and growing a YT channel was not our reason for coming back to the PH (could have stayed in Sri Lanka too, they’re YT lovers too ☺️) But in time we will probably not feel so shy to capture videos with the locals, probably it’s a natural way of evolving and developing as travel content creators 😍

Imagine, for 2 and a half years I was sure this was a crab, up until the moment I edited this video and slowed down my 2020 footage and saw that it looks more like a stingray 😳 Poor crabs, blaming them for nothing! 😂 Actually, reading through what a stingray wound feels like, things definitely add up! I was in massive pain for the first 6-8 hours, luckily it happened on our last day as we were approaching Coron (Ditaytayan island) The area where I got stung it is still sensitive to this day.. it actually took about a month and 3 different rounds of antibiotics to clear the infection and swelling. Oh yes, heard and saw the news about saltwater crocs 😳 luckily our base camp was on Bugsuk island and not the main Balabac island.. but you never knowc there’s always a light chance they’ll swim out 😄 Even having a stingray sting you the chances are 1 to 5000.. with my luck, I am surely watching out 🤣

If you were to chose between El Nido and Balabac what would you chose? I'm going there but won't have many days so I'll have to chose between the 2
@roamaniacs2 жыл бұрын
If it’s your first visit to Palawan, I would recommend El Nido and Coron first, and to the expedition between El Nido and Coron with Tao Philippines or Keelooma. They’ve been doing these 4Days/3Nights island hopping expeditions for longer. And there are other things to do around El Nido and Coron too. If you go to Balabac, you travel there strictly for the expedition and you won’t do anything else. That’s how we did it. It’s important to know that in base camp there is only 3-4 hours electricity in the evening and you will shower with buckets :) So it’s important to know you don’t stay in a resort etc
@russianinfrance872 жыл бұрын
@@roamaniacs I see. It's just I saw those genuine untouched beaches in Balabac and fell in love with them. Are there beaches like this in El Nido and Corin with no crowds of people constantly around could be found too and not only rocks around😅?
@roamaniacs2 жыл бұрын
@@russianinfrance87 yes, Sibaltan beach, Nacpan beach and a few others along the coast. Head to our PH playlist, we have a few videos from El Nido. You can also rent a kayak and go to a secluded beach - we have one video explaining how to. About Balabac beaches - note that you only have about 2-3 hours max time on each island. So it’s not like staying in a resort :) unless you book a one week expedition and then you can go to 1 island per day 😃
@russianinfrance872 жыл бұрын
@@roamaniacs I see. We will actually have 8 days in Palawan. I think we could do both Balanak and El Nido but my husband doesn't want to do both since it's opposite directions😅. How many days did you have?

@@roamaniacs thank you. I'll have a look👍 I'd like to ask you also about the luggage. I dint clearly understand how to deal with it in case of Balabac. I assume you arrive at least with one suitcase.
