On January 20th, Martin was called about an eagle unable to fly out in farm lands. With some assistance, the eagle was located trapped up against a fence. Martin caught the juvenile Bald Eagle and brought him back to the rescue center. An examination revealed two black marks from an electric current, one in the wing and one in the foot. Not knowing the extent of damage, Martin put the eagle in a chamber to continue to observe him. Over time, the Bald Eagle recovered and on March 5th, was released back into the wild! Power lines can be a problem for raptors. Most power poles, especially large ones, offer some protection. Smaller ones in more remote areas can still be hazardous as raptors use them as perches to hunt. 🔺Healer of Angels 🔺 Signed copy only from our site: www.gowildlife.org/healer-of-angels/ Kindle & Paperback from Amazon (with International delivery options): www.amazon.com/dp/B08YHXYLDH/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_05YQZYACZYQYCBXHKPZG 🔺Mailing Lists🔺 www.gowildlife.org/lists/ Monthly Review and/or As-it-Happens + video notifications! 🔺We Help Critters T-Shirt 🔺 teespring.com/we-help-critters-revised 🔺Ways to help 🔺 KZbin Donate Button (see top corner of video page) Donate at our site: www.gowildlife.org/ Donate at Facebook: facebook.com/southwestwildlifefoundation/ Donate Bitcoin: commerce.coinbase.com/checkout/50e24243-7b19-4a18-b300-db8eff66978a Purchase Martin's Book: www.gowildlife.org/healer-of-angels/ Rodent Pro Gift Certificates: www.gowildlife.org/get-involved/#add Cal Ranch Gift Card: www.calranch.com/c-a-l-ranch-gift-card.html Amazon Smile: smile.amazon.com/ch/87-0570151 Charity Wishlist: smile.amazon.com/hz/charitylist/ls/28QB4BKFPV9XJ/ref=smi_ext_lnk_lcl_cl 🔺 Mail Donations 🔺 You are welcome to mail us a donation or call to ask any questions about our organization. Restoring them to health and returning them to the wild is our primary goal, but for those that cannot be released due to disabilities, the Cedar Canyon Nature Park (CCNP) can provide them with a permanent home in a natural setting while enhancing our visitors educational experience at the park. _Informing, Educating and Inspiring_ The SWF provides over 100 educational programs reaching over 30,000 people annually. We believe providing educational outreach programs to schools, scout groups and community events, with focus on children and families, will make the greatest impact in preserving our wildlife, the environment, our public lands and our resources for future generations to enjoy. _Martin Tyner_ Since age twelve, with a bird on his arm, Martin has captivated audiences sharing his knowledge and experience of his wildlife friends. At age nineteen, Martin was hired as curator of birds of prey at Busch Gardens, CA. He also worked in the movie and television industry training big cats, elephants, primates, sea mammals and raptors. “One of my greatest childhood fantasies was the desire to create a personal friendship with a wild eagle. I found myself with a love and fascination for these powerful creatures.” Martin Tyner is a federally licensed falconer, eagle falconer, wildlife rehabilitator, wildlife propagator, and wildlife and environmental educator. He has been providing wildlife and environmental programs throughout the western United States, to schools, scouts and community groups for over fifty years. “Grandpa believed in a very simple philosophy; that a person should get up every morning and do good. Doing good means that you do well for others and doing well means that you do good for yourself. There is nothing wrong with doing well, but Grandpa always believed in doing good.” Martin's book, Healer of Angels, reflects back on his life: from a young boy terrified of birds to becoming the first man in North America licensed to train a wild golden eagle in the ancient art of falconry.

Why do we have laws to protect them from poachers to the extent you can’t own a feather, but we don’t have regulations to have power lines raptor safe? Surely, they kill waaaay than poaching.

@priscillasalzberg5349

@Tamara B Martin did better. I was in fact a bank teller and did not spot a counterfeit $100 bill. I gave a legitimate $1 silver bill to a cashier and she did not know what it was. It was an OLD BILL where upon presentation the person receiving it was supposed to give the person presenting it one ounce of silver. Despite many people working many years and/or having professional licenses some do a better job than others. I was at a street fair and there was a ferret that four vets wanted to put to sleep because it had a parasite. One young, new vet, gave it a try and saved the ferret's life.

People anthropomorphize too much. So tired of hearing "OMG he knew he was being rescued and didn't want to hurt anybody, so beautiful". The eagle was exhausted and near death. Fear and anger from a captive wild animal is a positive sign: they're not supposed to be cuddly beanie babies.

Dear Martin and Susan. After I hear the news and feel sad about current events, I love to watch your videos and I have learned a lot about eagles, hawks, owls and roadrunners. Above all, I relate to the birds that are badly hurt or starved and need your help, and your voice is very soothing. That is more than enough for me. I wish I could contribute to your cause, but since I cannot send money at the moment, I will have to wait. I also like to tell you that I am Venezuelan and if I were able to do so, I would first choose to send money to an organization that helps children with malnourishment in Venezuela. I volunteered while in Venezuela. Not there anymore. Needless to say, I send you all my best wishes. I respect you and share your videos to those who can appreciate your work. Love to you and to your birds. Rosix Emilia.

Seeing this kind of result is always so heartwarming. Can't express enough my love and appreciation for all the work that Martin and Susan do for these critters. I am fortunate to get to see a bald and a golden up close quite often. Although these birds are well accustomed to humans and show no aggression towards me even though I'm just outside of arms reach, I can still feel the power that they possess in their bodies and I'm always amazed at how well Martin is able to work with the wild ones whose instincts to fight are strong. My deepest respects.

In my own very little way I raised a wood pigeon chick that had fallen out of the nest and injured its leg. I had to research what they ate, how to teach him to fly , (I think it was a boy). And then one day his time had come to leave , he sat in a garden tree for some time and wouldn’t come to me so he was ready to go his own way. I did shed a tear but it was a lovely feeling that he had survived and was off into his wild space where he belonged. I thanked my father for raising me and my sister to love the wild animals and birds and flowers. It is a gift that will last me to the end and it has given me such happiness across the years. So I just love these videos. Thank you very much and wish the Wildlife Trust much success. 🇬🇧

Yes I watch a seal rescue where they rescue them by cutting entanglements from around their neck that keep them from breathing and then they let him go and within 10 to 20 minutes it's done and I've seen other seal rescues where six people come in in orange suits and they tranquilize the animal and make it a huge production when all it needed to be was captured sit on them cut the string and let him go instead they traumatized The Animals by capturing caging when it's not necessary big production. Which is far more traumatic than the piece of string choking them to death that could be simply cut with scissors. Kiss keep it simple stupid. Anyway that's just my opinion thank God for people like you who care for animals

He didn't even try to peck you once; it's like he knew you were trying to help him. So precious. We live below an eagle nest in our tall evergreen tree in Oregon overlooking the mouth of the Columbia River where they raise nest after nest of eaglets every few years. I love to hear them calling out to one another. I had to square off with one on my deck once who was sizing up my mini dachshund for dinner. As he perched on my deck railing, I told my dog to go in the house and I spoke to the bald eagle telling him he could not eat my dog and he needed to go away. He seemed to know what I said. I was respectful but firm. He flew away and never bothered my dog again. Animals are smarter than we think. Nice that you helped that eagle. Without your help, he wouldn't have lived long having to hop around to get food.

I already adore you two! It's good to see people taking care of raptors as well as you do. Keep up the amazing work!
