🇲🇩 Ever been to Ratus in Moldova? Me neither and so I decided to go and investigate the place so you don't have to. On the way I met some great Moldovan people and of course visited some abandoned Soviet buildings.

@@botidobra6221 It's not postapocaliptic is more like what a corrupt government does to their people, even though people usually think soviets treated their people horribly the second half of the Soviet Union actually gave their people a somewhat decent lifestyle that old people in these villages miss, now they have to live with almost no money and that's pretty sad, at least Bald is showing the world about this and maybe make this corrupt governors actually care about their people just because of shame about what they did by filling their pockets with money

But those women he drank with in Moldova were probably some of the nicest women you could meet off the beaten path. They welcomed him in, gave him the best wine they made, and sent him off with a bottle. This is how the world should operate. Treating random strangers on the basis of love and warm-heartedness.

I loved Ratus! Simple friendly farm folk. Neat, tidy houses. Birds chirping and a BEAUTIFUL church. The brickwork at its entrance giving a hint of how much thought had gone into the building. (The stones made me think that jewels had been embedded in the walls). But inside! SPECTACULAR! The light and colours contrasting with the grey bleakness of the houses and winter countryside left outside. It would have been good to enjoy for a while, something loved that pulsated with "Life", and contrasted so vividly with the abandoned, broken relics of a once occupying, foreign force.

You are bringing up some memories, even though only slightly related. I played correspondence chess against a guy from Georgia. He wanted some albums (from the group "Kansas") he couldn't get over there, so I bought them and wanted to send them to him. After the fall of the Soviet Union I didn't hear from him anymore. Later got news that he perished in the post Soviet chaos - no civil war, nothing else, just was randomly murdered by some people when order broke down and they may have thought he had some money on him or whatever. Still have the records in their original packaging. They moved with me three times. I don't dare open, I promised to send them to Aleksey. They have a special place in my vinyl collection of olden times. One of them seems to be bent out of shape, dunno how I'll ever explain that.

I have to say mate, that's impressive what you've done here and thank you for bringing back some memories about my country, feels like it's been forever since I left and probably a lot more people from Moldova watching your videos felt home for a moment . Top man

I'd hang out with you all day man, I lived in Germany for 10 years and am a former UK citizen, my buddy and I both into culture and history would walk the streets of Europe getting pissed talking to folks asking them about how they view the changes in Europe. We were young, and I can't speak for him, but I learned we are all the same at the core.

Log s European isn’t a race and “at the core” all humans are the same, thanks to the internet we are now more connected than ever and we will continue to be. Travel the world a little and you will realise how silly you sound.
