As an outsider to the 40 K universe... I have to formulate My insight that you are a truly gifted narrator who’s adept for storytelling is one of the best and most effective I’ve ever experienced (coming from an anthropologist witnessing multitudes of cultures recite their stories)...You always find a way to bring an original perspective taking us down unexpected narrative pathways as you simply yes eloquently speak of the Warhammer universe as we walk through it with you. Your perceptions of this galaxy whose menagerie of complicated yet intriguing habitants make The ‘grim darkness’ feel palpable. Yet such a unique facet it’s not what put you on a different level of other Warhammer narrators, it’s The fact that you’re narrative monologues are NEVER formulaic nor predictable nor a simple recitation pre-written Lore! You my man, are gifted. The natural predispositions of your voice and cadence emanated through the aperture of a passion for the grim dark.... has manifested a pure intuitive genius for your craft!

I find myself back here once again good sir Baldermort. I have had myself what I would call the longest second of my life, and that was seeing my dad in the hospital, hearing there was no brain activity and no chance of recovery save for a miracle. No miracle came, and it was seven days before my birthday. I miss him every day. I keep coming back to 40k, and your videos, because it contains stories of struggling against insurmountable odds without hope. I really resonate with that. I've left comments on a few of your videos, and I will continue to do so, but I want to thank you for being the catalyst that got me into the lore. Strange as it is, it's been those stories of perseverance that helped me step up and do what needed to be done in the days following his passing. It wasn't easy, but falling apart wasnt an option. I've thoroughly enjoyed reading the 40k books. And oddly enough, I have enjoyed Rogal Dorne, and Sigismund. I have a fascination with Viking mythology, and have a few trinkets with runes on them (rule of cool). One ring has the inscription "May you not lack in strength". It was a surreal moment when I read The Solar War and read Sigismund say before a battle "May my strength be equal to this moment." I read that page the day of my dad's passing, before I went to bed in the morning after night shift. You may never read this, but I hope you know that you have brought me stories that I have found important lessons in. I'll leave you with the final words I gave my father before saying goodbye "It was enough." You've brought me stories, and made videos with such passion and zeal, and it has made a difference in my life. Thank you good sir Baldermort.

I will watch this video, but I gotta say this, even tho this is older video: Star wars was my escape from my childhood. I loved it. But now I realize, it truly was the depth of it, that I loved. That with my own drawing, stories, fond memories... Escapism, sometimes yes. But to me, these sorts of fiction teaches us more about ourselves. What our own minds are capable of. The depth and weight of it all, makes it all seem so real. Saying I am immersed is an understatement. After 20 years, I am finally letting go of star wars. Not the legends, but I am sad to see people who don't love the franchise have the reigns. BUT... My friend - my chosen brother - introduced me into warhammer 40k, almost a year ago. I have been doing some healing, but it is a delight. Truly. Nothing can replace those good memories of star wars from my bleak childhood, but the craving I have for this new universe, this lore, the depth... It inspires me to think, to feel, to consider, to UNDERSTAND... To create! And your stories, the way you write, helps me immerse. I step through a portal of imagination, and enter a new universe of endless stories, possibilities, both written and the ones that exist on the background. When a world is so in-depth and alive.. It is possible for us to indulge in our own creativity (within the rules of this universe) and imagine stories of our own. To me, this and star wars, have been the only universes I have been able to "exist within" or "be part of". Create stories of my own. Not many medias can inspire like this... Inspire to be part of. To learn... To create. Thank you. (And apologies for bad grammar. English is not my first language and it's 1 AM in my country)

I only just discovered your channel this week from a post in a 40k Facebook group but I have to say your are now my favourite loremaster by an Imperial mile! I sat and listend to the whole 3 part Rogal Dorn series last night whilst working on some digital 3d projects and it blew me away. I've been playing 40k since the first edition but I've never heard anyone give the lore such gravitas as your tellings!! Well done that man!!!!

David Cilia thank you, brother. I really appreciate that. I thought it my best work. Ok, the sound wasn’t great and had improved by miles. But I was proud of it. But I am just a starter channel. I never claim to know any more than anyone who has ‘been around the block.’ That you enjoyed it and are another ‘Rogue Trader’ - the honour is mine. :). Thank you for listening and then taking the time to comment. It means the world. :).

As a 40k fan who is also a very serious fan of the star wars extended universe, I appreciate your respectful mention of it in a way that makes the true depths of its lore second only to 40k. I have a personal library of all of the old extended universe legends novels of star wars and its new Canon as well. Right next to it I am working on collecting as many 40k novels as I can as well. There are a lot of people out there who aren't aware of the depth of star wars passed the content that exists on screen in movies and series. A lot of them would even call themselves huge fans without ever knowing the true depth of how much is really there surrounding the movies they've seen. It truly is one of the largest and my personal favorite fictional universe there is. That said, what you said is right and it is second to 40k and has a long way to go to catch up. I must thank channels like baldimort for playing a role in pulling me into this universe. I'm not sure I'll ever be able to read them all but I have been on my journey for a while now and it truly is incredible

Baldemort, you have made many exquisite videos, but in my mind, nothing can touch the masterpiece that you have achieved in this trilogy of Rogal Dorn. This is surely one of your finest works and one that I love the most. They are so...emotional. Heartbreaking. They encapsulate the essence of what W4OK is all about, not the battles ,not war but the heart of it. Its emotions. I still watch these videos in full length over and over again, no matter their length. Its like LOTR to me, I can always do another marathon. Thank you for this

Arch Gets a bunch of lore wrong in almost every video. Not to mention his highly arrogant approach to his content LOADING them HEAVY with his opinion. He's almost fighting his viewer base in an "No I'm right!" fashion =/ He's deeply in "dunning krugger effect" territory". Highly frustrating to watch his videos... Leutin gets is a lot more accurate with the lore. Absolving him from some gripes. He too however... Is thickly slabbing on his opinions in videos... Although in an less adversarial manner. Again. Highly frustrating. Are they here to teach us about the lore or impart their opinions... Baldemort. You my man have a far more storytelling approach to this. Bringing the lore far more "as read by a librarian". It has your interpretation entwined in it. But it's far more about the nuances/emotions of the lore. Not forcing your opinion onto the reader but merely hinting at how you see it. Leaving breathing room for the listener to make their own interpretation. Keep it up! You rock!

Rogue4Buttons it would be deeply inappropriate for me to comment on your evaluation of Arch or Luetin. I hope you see I am not disagreeing with you, just playing it neutral as I tend to do. I never want to sour anyone to any other channel. But about myself / thank you. A lot. I try to show when it’s an opinion or dramatic licence by saying ‘we’re going off script’ indicating it is just my take. I never want to thrust my view down anyone’s throat about warhammer. The only exception is a call to enjoy it and leave the stress away from it. It’s our hobby our escape! Anything else? Politics, economics, etc? I’m not trained for that! Entertainers should stick to entertaining, is my view. If I want an opinion on anything ‘real life’ I look up a bunch of differing experts. See what they got. I will never ever understand why anyone would ask a poet about plumbing or an actor about politics. They know just about squat is my view. Their view, like my view, is no better than anyone else’s. But it’s just my take on things. I’m regularly wrong. Regularly. If you EVER catch me slipping from this line, if you EVER see me getting full of myself, burst that balloon. Remind me of this, the Baldomatic oath. Just lore and stories. Maybe some hobby stuff. Nothing ever more. Ever. I learn as much from the comments section as anyone learns from me. This is a community site, not a one man band. And it will STAY that way. :).

In the few years, but countless hours, I've been in the hobby this is without even a glimmer of a doubt the single best lore video I've found. Utterly brilliant, bafflingly so. It's unbelievable how the story/setting at face value can be taken as just super soldiers killing things (which in its absolute most basic form can be exactly that) but can instead be one of the deepest, most rich settings I've ever had the pleasure of diving into. The depth to some of the characters is just as impressive as the loyalty of its fandom. I'm getting off topic, but amazing quality. Your writing comes off as very poetic. It fits 40k absolutely perfectly.

Escapism.. yes , and more. As grimdark and over-the-top as 40k may seem, there´s many ideas in there which, upon closer inspection are quite deep, like the warp for instance: It could be seen as an analogy for the collective unconscious of humanity, an immaterial reality consisting of the hidden emotions and desires of mankind, breaking into conscious reality in times of crisis and great sufffering. I never got into the game itself (I enjoyed the few good videogames like Dawn of war though...) but I love the setting and the lore in it´s grimdark and epic nature. I´m really thankful passionate people like you are creating these carefully put together and supremely narrated videos, its a treat for us lore-heads. Ave Imperator Baldemort, may he watch over your soul so you can continue to enlighten us with your knowledge of the grim darkness of the far future!

I'm back for another watch. This trilogy about this character is amazingly done, it's titanic in it's tragedy and really nails how catastrophic the Heresy was and from this Primarch's perspective you gave us. You did do it justice and I can see why it's a traumatic thing for a loremaster to try and describe. My admiration for Rogal went from nothing to stupendous overnight! It's Shakespearean in it's tragedy and what a loss to the Imperium Sanguinius was never mind everything else! I wish Rogal could have seen his dream come true..I'm gutted.

Baldermort, I'm so grateful for your narrations. I can honestly say your narration and reading of the full "Fall of Cadia" novel to this day is my absolute favorite audiobook of all time. However, I will honestly say I prefer your tales and stories so much more. I think it's because when you narrate you are reading another person's passion. When you speak YOUR passion, that's when you shine so much. I hope lots of people "come for the books, stay for the Baldermort," lol. Please keep working so hard. I love your latest videos as well. Greatly enjoyed your expose of the last firstborn power armor. You're so thoughtful and an incredibly gifted writer. I literally find your stories more compelling than most of your audiobooks.
