In the Lae'zel scene I got three diffrent skill checks that required me to pass a 30 check, failed the first two then i rolled 20 on the third, probably the last check. My heart was rising so much, i wish you couldve seen the entire scene it gets so intence

You might want to check Lae'zel's character sheet now, the machine has a permanent effect if you go through the whole scene, maybe if you succeeded on the last check it won't be there.

Huh. I failed my first 30 check with her. But my second check was much lower. Maybe it was because of what I picked, but I think her "approval" must play a role/lower the difficulty to convince her.

OK, major spoilers for what happened for me with the zaith'isk in the creche (I suspect I had the most revealing outcome): . . . Lae'zel was determined to drink the metaphorical Cool-aid and be 'purified' by the Zaith'isk. I let her do it until she was almost dead, and then probed using my psionics and a wisdom check to discover that the Zaith'isk was always intended to rip the memories out of those it is used on, and kill them. There was never any purification, and it was always a lie. I was able to use this information in a couple of places with some persuasion checks to turn Laezel against Vlakith. The doctor turned hostile, along with the room outside the infirmary, but it didn't aggro the whole creche (that came later, lol). Regarding the Prince of the Comet, Orpheus - you can find the first part of his story, which Lae'zel reads to you, in the mage tower in the underdark. The second part is here in the creche. IIRC If that training guy survives, he gives you his copy of Orpheus' story (part II) if you can persuade him. A third part is later on, I forget where.

38:05 Holy crap, that was a nat 20 and a half (quite literally, since the DC was 30)! In D&D the standard DCs are 5 (very easy), 10 (easy), 15 (medium), 20 (hard), 25 (very hard), and 30 (nearly impossible), so I don't think that was any kind of bug (it just reflects how much Lae'zel is dedicated to Vlaakith and her protocols). The idea is that a character with a +5 in the relevant ability (that typically happens at lv 8) and a +6 proficiency bonus with the relevant skill (that happens at lv 17) would have an overall bonus of +11, and would need to get on the d20 at least a 19 (19+11=30) to succeed (so it's only a 10% chance in the best case scenario). It's that kinda stuff that makes D&D incredibly memorable.

I really like Lae'zel. She comes so far in the game - from Vlaakith thrall to revolutionary. I was surprised, that of all companion storylines hers ended up being one of the most important to the main plot.

The guardian blows up the device if not a good roll, saving her(you can choose to be in the chair too so the game wouldn’t kill you either). If bad roll on deception with the doctor the guards become hostile.

Once that’s completed they can be taken before you leave that area. That’s exactly what I did, used them to open the wall to get the vial then took them before I left.

The timing this game has is crazy. Because I entered the front I saw the cut scene where the Gith shot the absolute guy you spoke to the dead on. Really cool timing. Makes it feel more real with everyone on their own time line.

'm enjoying watching this playthrough so much, really appreciating all the little lore details you point out. This game surprises me every day, I ended up with a 'Game Over' due to one of my conversation choices in the part you played through in this video, I was so shocked!! I won't say which part or what choice I made as I don't want to spoil anything, but it did allow me to return to my last save, I don't know if that is always the case though.

Of course she will bow and bend to her Queen, she is like her mother, her god. But still, she has defied her race for you (Protagonist), that is a lot to value.

Did you know that if you produced the artifact to the Inquisitor that it would have come straight back to you and the Inquisitor would have accepted that you were the chosen? May still have ended in combat probably. You made your choice so it was nice to see a different result. It does have so many options available doesn't it,?

I kinda like seeing the options that I didnt do to experience how it unfolds, but its also hard to watch some of your choices that directly robbed you from very big revelations. Especially in this episode, you made 3 very very big choice paths, that directly kept you in the dark about the biggest questions of the game. I know you will do a replay, I just hope that wont diminish the experience. First playthrough is always the most satisfying.

@@WolfheartFPS well depends what answers you or your companions want answered, and more importantly when. And more importantly to the story, I gave Lae'zel knowledge about the truth. Before leaving the temple I got 3 answers you did not. not gonna spoil it but: I was given 100% certainty about: 1. Whether the gith queen is true of fake. 2. Whether the guardian is a true friend or not. 3. Whether the gith assention is real or not. Id say thats the most important questions so far. And they were not revealed in your play through. So how is it not keeping you in the dark?

Great content. Always waiting for the next Episode. I haven't played any of BG and I don't usually spend $60 on a game but I am really considering it. I have loved D&D since I was a kid. I still have several about 40 year old D&D dungeon books, monster books, dice and character sheets stored away. I used to buy a ton of figurines as well back in the day. This is the first game that really takes me back to those days. It was only mental fantasy back then with no computers or internet 😂 Great job!

I never used to understand why people watched other people play games. But, I am highly enjoying this. This game looks incredible !!! but also... just... too much. Since I stopped playing games regularly, I find it very hard to jump back into anything which isn't some sort of arcade style game where you just plug in and go and a few buttons are all you need. I know I'd be overwhelmed by this and it would probabaly take me double the amount of time to complete as you. So, watching this play through is perfect. I'm a convert haha.

Man, you should have used Astarion for the pickpocket. That's what I do. It's a PITA to swap him for whomever, but it works well. I guess this could technically be considered "cheesing" however. I was holding my breath in a grimace the whole time!

In reality, handing over the weapon or not doesn't matter. You end up fighting the Inquisitor either way. Either before you visit the plane or after you get back. And you have to fight your way out of the Captians office as well.. So same combat either way.

After the purification, in which I failed my checks, I was locked in the infirmary and when we tried to leave, they attacked us. So I ended up reloading a save so I could try again and now watching this to see how to do it differently.

WOW. Two crits in a row, and you nailed the first attempt. NOT FAIR. XD You already know this, I'm sure, but you get three shots at getting her out, each a DC 30. If you get her out on the second or third attempt, she'll drop a bit in the mental attributes, but that's basically it. If you fail to deceive the doctor after you free Lae'zel, you'll have to fight all the githyanki in the room next to the infirmary.

great content dude, I really like it. I don't have the time to play the game at the moment but I'm really excited about it. Just one thing bugs me... Why do you often (almost always) ask the corpses who are they? I mean, they will just say a random name, feels like a pointless question, especially since its limited to 5-6 questions. I feel like you are missing useful information with asking the corpses who are they and where are they from. We know its going to be a random generated name and story, so maybe use the questions for situational info. No courtesy really needed with the corpses 😂
