What’s even more crazy about the big reveal of the Emperor being the Balduran is that Larian left us a subtle hint that you most likely can catch only on your second playthrough. When you rent a room in the Elfsong tavern you will hear quite often the Song of Balduran. Pay close attention to the lyrics. They literally tell you “transformed, he fell their thrall”. Now, go back to to the scene from the beginning of act 3, where you go to the Prism for the first time and discover that your guardian is a mind flayer. During the talk with the Emperor you can hear instrumental version of the Song of Balduran in the background. I love little details like this.

These last few quests you have done are my favorite storylines in the game, Shadowheart, Raphael, and Wyll. As someone who deprogrammed himself from an extremely toxic church that taught me to be horrible to others, in a less severe or fantastical way than Shar obviously, Shadowheart's story really resonates with me personally. Glad you got to a good ending.

That's how I felt about a Southern Baptist Church I was forced to go to as a child growing up in East Texas. Ruined religion for me as a young adult. The origin characters are all so relatable, I can see a little bit of myself in all of them.

I'm the opposite actually. I grew up in a violent and dysfunctional non-religious home but I found religion (or perhaps religion found me?) that finally brought peace to my soul and mind. So because of that I relate more to Shadowheart's good storyline where she turns away from evil Shar to the good Selûne and finds peace.

I like that they actually put in a real chess problem instead of just a random nonsensical piece configuration you often see in these kind of situations! For anyone who is curious, the mate in 2 solution on the chessboard is: 1.Rg8+ Bxg8 (1...Kh7 2.Nf6#) 2.Qg7 checkmate.

There are so many great Let's Plays across KZbin, but your love of this franchise, deep knowledge of the lore, regular narration of not just your actions as a tactician, but also as a role player, and the thoughtfulness in which you play the game - all come together to make your videos an absolute joy to watch. I immediately purchased the game after watching just a few episodes. Your deep exploration of the world made it impossible not, as it demonstrated what this game is and very well could be. I know in some way I am 'spoiling' some of game for myself by watching your videos, as they all include so much attention to detail and background - a real 'no stone left unturned' play through - but it should only end up bringing even more joy when I get to the places that this adventure has taken you, and the moments I look back and inevitably realize how my own adventure has diverged from your own in silly, minor, complex, and utterly game-changing ways. I like seeing everything, and hearing why you're doing something. I started watching these in the first place because I didn't understand anything about the game and was super frustrated. From what I've read, a lot of new players are picking up this game. And while tips and tricks videos are cool, nothing sticks with me like watching the cake get made. So personally I wanna see it all. Im always learning something, even from the "boring parts"

I have to say this - I've never watched any other streamer that like you. No one else is putting his/her heart so much into a game with nice story like this one. Actually, when I watch this playthrough I see not four characters but five. That amazes me. And good thing is that we all have some disappointments in our lives but we have to learn the lessons and continue forward. There's much in our reality that puts us in bad condition but as long as our souls are good we have a chance to prove that the ones that have bad manners will have their actions judged and they will have what they deserve. The other playthrough that you do following "the dark side" is not so impressive to me. I watch it but there I don't see you. Someone else is playing. Which is fine if you like it or you have to do it. In general - Good job.

I actually side with the Emperor, Ansur did confess he tried to kill Balduran, he was the one that ended up dead but that's just self defense, sounds like a pretty good reason to kill anyone, especially once they acknowledged he still kept his self, sure, the emperor is no longer (if it ever was) the paragon of virtue and lawful good everyone knows him to be, but I don't think he is bad either, is he good to the point of sacrificing himself? obviously not, but he isn't trying to conquer the world, in fact, the only way he (ending spoilers ahead) the only way he ends as absolute is if you talk him into it, but he is decided to kill the brain, doesn't try to betray you if you're the one that takes that task upon yourself, doesn't even argue against himself not being the one that uses the stones, which tells us he was indeed saying the truth when he said he wanted to do it himself only because he is the only mindflayer in there Yes, his methods are... rather on the dark side, he manipulated, enthralled and enslaved others to his will, but he didn't do it for the power trip, he did it because he thought it was the best course of action in order to protect his city and prevent the grand design, at worst, I think he is chaotic neutral, and I did trust him to save the world, and he is right, if he wanted the absolute to rule, all he had to do is not help us at all

He does feel bad that he has to kill his allies but would do it again in a heartbeat. _It was a necessity."_ as he would say. He is supporting us because we are his best bet for now. But should we become a hindrance, he would get rid of us just as quickly. Spoiler That's why if we choose to save the prince, emperor chooses to join with the absolute. Because to him, his survival is most paramount even if becoming illithid. Rest is inconsequential. He can always escape and try once again.

Check with the rook and then if the bishop takes rook, checkmate with the queen on the tile protected by the knight or if the king moves, checkmate with the knight protecting the rook

He's missed quite a bit during Gale's quest too. A legendary staff and a hidden door to a genie encounter. And I believe a bow was missed at the iron throne so I heard. It's so easy to miss stuff. I think that's intentional though, makes second and third playthroughs interesting.

Just came back from the Philippines fell asleep with KZbin on and episode 19 was on. I watch to the end of the whole Playthru. I’m blown away at how amazing of a job they did. Previous locations. There’s been quite a few battles that I thought there’s no way you’re gonna get out of it and there you succeed by the seat of your pants. Fantastic job. I can’t wait to watch your other Playthru’s.

If you do the Lanceboard trial with Gale in your party, he'll just tell you the solution to win in two moves. Switching to Gale to click on the statue accidentally screwed you out of the answer, but I guess that's the fun of a first playthrough. You don't know these things yet, so it feels a bit like stumbling through the dark and hoping you'll figure it out your own way somehow.

I find it interesting how hard you've had to lean on Gale because I didn't even use him until act 3 and I found my playthrough went rather smoothly. It's cool to see the comp build work differently. Made me decide my second playthroigh would be a Sorc.

I came here just for the Chess puzzle :D So to answer the questions... Yes, you are supposed to play chess. So you play and then the game plays and so on... But if you make a wrong move - instead of the game playing, it right away shows you that its the wrong move by reseting resetting the entire board to its "original" position... Which is not so obvious I have to admit. The idea is that if the black bishop wasn't there... Then the queen could move close to the king and deliver checkmate. Because the queen can be protected by the white knight. So we have to bait the bishop to move away from its original square somehow. So, the idea is to move the rook one square towards the king to attack him and force the bishop to capture it. That is good because now that the bishop moved out of the way, it freed up the way for the Queen to move close to the king and deliver checkmate! Since the knight is covering all the escape squares!

I lucked out.. When exploring I found the prison in Wyrm Rock... And it has a fast travel point. You'll probably find Florrick in the prison too. Edit: you unlocked the waypoint for Wyrm Rock Prison as well before you jumped back to camp.

I never imagined I'd find myself in the position of wanting to kill balduran, but you know, the real balduran is already dead. Mind Flayers consume and destroy the souls of their victims, claiming their memories, but they are not them. Idk what decision you'll make but in my playthrough the Emperor's going down.

When you where in the barracks and had a key clearly marked but it didnt work on the chest. I have the same issue with one of the vault keys. It clearly is marked for vault 1 but when I try to open vault 1 it says its locked and does not reconize the key in my inventory.

How about using silence with your cleric in multiple situations including stopping other spell casters. Just cast invisibility on the number you like and cast.

I find that silence isn't actually that good in this game as casters simply just walk outside of the silence bubble haha I tested it out quite a lot in early access. Good for a small room though
