"emmmmm... super awesome!" Hahaha.. Men Lari is no random Tabanan warung.... and the kitten soooo cute. Anyway, thanks for showing us some real Bali today. Love the drone shots too. This is what I love doing. Rounding as I call it, meaning going around but with no fixed plans nor desitnation and just enjoying the journey & fabulous scenery, dropping by real random warungs (no google maps & reviews those days). There were nice places I've eaten but sadly forgotten how to get back there. I've had my fair share of hotel problems, no hot water, lights don't work, plenty of critters in room, loud geckos but its all good. All part of the more rural areas and adds to the charm. All the food on this video looks so mouth watering. Yumyumzzz

hey u know i was thinking of you as we did this Balian trip!! was thinking exactly that maybe right now we're doing what Terubong has described so many times to us! poking around randomly n eating our way thru different parts of Bali n just exploring! heheh u're the inspiration la. I actually think Men Lari BG was even better than Ibu Oka's.... so im very glad we decided to stop by that one there were SO MANY along that road n all looked like quite "lawah"type establishments. n yeah that kitten was a darling i wish i brought him home.

The atmosphere in Balian it did look like Bali 20 years ago. At that time I lived in Java and just started uni. And during spring break or holiday I took a job as guide, and often I went to Bali. 24 hours bus journey, 5 days stay, and 24 hours back. Bali was so beautiful back then. Then I stopped doing guide gig after I finish my uni and started office job. And 4 years ago when I visited Bali again, I really shocked how crowded Bali is now

Hi Jean and Vitaly! Thank you for your vlog as always. Lovely story about the elderly couple in the van who gave you a lift across the flooded waterway. Yes, beautiful spot up there. I used to surf Balian quite a lot as a teenager and into my early 20's. It was always known to be a little mystical and has always been a bit sharky with the river mouth there. Actually, quite a few shark attacks over the years. Anyway, good to see you enjoyed yourselves apart from the accommodation which was a pity. Looking forward to your next vlog, guys!

Hello jean & Vitaly That is a shame that they had no exterior lighting and dirty towels, I actually wrote the hotel and sent them your video, perhaps the little bite you back. as it is necessary to make you feel comfortable and safe to have exterior lighting. I enjoy you both you're a great commentator and easy on the eyes and Vitaly is quiet and loves to eat. I'd like you guys to show more of your surfing and perhaps when you go out and eat you start early and have each each restaurant show a particular dish and how they make it. This might be something that could be a whole new spin off on your channel is how they make certain foods? babi guling near pesiapan bridge tabanan was so good, and its already sold out at 11:00 am, it was in the side of jl.ir soekarno, small warung at the right side if u drive from denpasar, babi guling its good to eat at home, dibungkus in indonesia it make all the ingridients mix very well when it get home, make me hungry 😅

hey Doggie Wog! Vimutti in sanskrit refers to freedom of the mind, freedom from suffering ... freedom thru understanding... I was in my early 20s n being very angsty when i got it haha. Bali overall i would say can be an expensive place but if u're a person w simple expectations then it can be very affordable also. Anyway Vitaly does not work now either. we are together getting by on a bit of passive income from working, saving n financial planning we did over the last few years w the aim that we can live here for a while like this.

Wow guys - fantastic cinematics AGAIN! Love the drone shots haha - so much production value! Love how you guys just packed up and went on a whim - YESSS!!! Now that's freedom haha. That dinner for two sounds pretty comparable to an American dinner at a restaurant - probably in the low/mid tier. Is that what the restaurant was going for in terms of the pricing (ie. not too fancy - like mid level restaurant)? I ask because I had the impression that it would be much cheaper. Because I saw you order the Beef Rendang and the Babi Panggan Bamboo which is two plates and two drinks. For $27 that's pretty comparable to the restaurants around here. I know Bali is know for a lot of foreigners/ex pat concentration - is this the reason why prices were high? Or are these prices normal?

heya!! sorry i took so long to come back to this it was a busy week! yes we did think both our dinner and brekkie at Balian was quite expensive compared to normal life here in Bali but i guess they were holding tourists ransom in that rather isolated place haha.... normally things r either a lot more reasonable or a lot better value for that price la.

I've never been to this part of Bali. But some of my fav places are Candidasa, Amlapura in Karangasem, East Bali. For me, East Bali feels like Bali 30 years ago. There is Virgin Beach hidden behind some hills. If you haven't been there, check it out. Have fun 👍 🙏

Yes you should go to candidasa. The drive there is soo scenic, hills vs seaside on each side.

I'm a Balinese living in Singapore. My dad & husband are from Tabanan, so I am quite familiar with Tabanan style babi guling. Tabanan style babi guling is different than, for example its Denpasar or Gianyar counterpart. Thanks for this video. I could even imagine the smell of Tabanan style babi guling while watching you. 😂

Surf resort right on the water at those prices. Yeah. I mean the surfers probably appreciate they keep the prices down but I’m sure corners have to be cut to do so. It’s sorta a tough one. Surfer can sleep in a bay cave if they had to haha
