We will be driving through 10 countries in the Balkans. What did you suggest for my cell service? Getting a plan before I go, or getting SIM cards there? Was the cell service good?

How fun! For this roadtrip I ended up using an international plan with my cell phone provider (xfinity). I switched over to international the day I started my trip and I was surprised at how good my coverage was the entire trip. I had my maps downloaded for offline use, so I mostly used my cell plan to send whatsapp messages or make phone calls if I was on the road and had to get in touch with an airbnb host. I did this cellphone plan out of convenience, but if you're trying to stay within a certain budget then getting SIM cards locally is the more cost-effective route. Hope that helps!

@@roamingwithalyssa Yes it does, I was thinking that the international plan would be the best so I thought I would ask. Looking forward to trying the Walnut liquor. I am renting a car in Sofia and they will help me get all the passes for each country. I have enjoyed your videos. Are you there now?

@@russrichardson6573 I hope you like the walnut liqueur as much as I do 😄. That is good the rental car company is getting all the necessary papers for you to cross borders. I found all the crossings I did to be pretty fast and easy. I am back in the States now.

Which time of the year were you driving from Montenegro to sarajevo? ... I'm planning to do that at the begin of January...

I did Montenegro to Sarajevo end of Jan/beginning of February. I thought it was a great time because the weather was decent (at least when I was there!) and there were no crowds.

Is it save to drive in Bosnia ,we have Dutch licence plate ,we are from Holland Amsterdam Isn't a Dutch car very noticeable? for thieves and other scum

Hmmm I'm not sure how it would be with a Dutch license plate, but I was in a brand new car with Croatian plates and I felt very safe in Bosnia. One thing I did that really eased my mind was to stay in lodging that was walking distance to city center and had designated parking (usually behind a gate). That way I could leave it parked while I explored the town and I knew my car would be safe at night. When I was exploring smaller towns on day trips and had to park on the street or in a public parking lot I never worried about it. I think the best thing is to not leave your car parked anywhere isolated or leave anything inside of it. And I would look for hotels/airbnbs with private parking. I think you will be fine!!
