BALLET TURNS TIPS & TRICKS | Spotting whilst doing pirouettes is really challenging as it demand a lot of coordination and rhythm. However with good practice and by following MY TIPS AND TRICKS its possible to achieve it fast!
Within this video I will give you an in depth guide on how to improve your pirouettes and general ballet technique through the use of spotting. This is a fundamental ballet skill which all ballerinas should train and continue exercising and training throughout their dancing career.

I find whipping my head to be the most difficult thing to remember to do when turning

@@ishabooab indeed it is difficult to keep in mind when turning. This is why it is so important to practice independently so to creat the muscle memory.

I always lose my spotting point while turning and then i fall out

It takes lots of practice to improve. Try to not look at the floor when you turn, also try to practice spotting first without any pirouette. I believe I have a video for spotting only.

do you recommend not to spot yourself in the mirror?

I wouldn’t recommend it all the time. Dancers need to develop good proprioception therefore using the mirrors as feedback tool all the time won’t help you to develop self body awareness.
