I personally have the enclosed rack system, where the sides and back are solid. But, my wife (who absolutely supports me in my endeavor to be a breeder, even though she is not particularly a fan of reptiles) made me wait, and found a custom cage builder over a Dragon Cages, and had them build one with the probes at every level as well, along with plenty of ventilation. Way more expensive, but well worth it in the long run.

Hi Gavin, new subscriber here. I've been learning a lot watching your videos (as well as other breeders on youtube) and everyone has talked about paperwork and taking notes. I tried googling common methods for keeping good notes and I'm sure every breeder has a different method but I'm not seeing any information about how to do it. If you could do a quick video showing what your notes say and how you have the info organized I would really appreciate that (I've seen some paperwork with your snake tubs as well as some type of clip board with stickers on it, i think for breeding?). Thank you

Awesome information! Question for you, in your snake room do you run any sort of humidifier for the ambient humidity surrounding? If so what do you set your ambient air humidity to in the entire room? Not in the tub. Thanks Gavin.

great video as im new to the bp world just coming up to a year and i done exactly what you done with the heat mats 1 stat per level and i only have 5 levels of 2. i got my heat stats of ebay habistat was the cheapest place to get them and my heat mats i got from my local garden centre again cheapest place i found them. my advice avoid real cheap cheap stats from China they have 2 pin plugs with adapter which didnt work properly as i found out.

Are heat pads necessary? I was researching some stuff on temperatures for ball pythons and a couple places I read said you don't need heat pads as long as the ambient temp is around 85 degrees Fahrenheit.
@Balls2U7 жыл бұрын
Sadie I would always advise a heat mat, so they have a hot spot..... the ambient temp at 85 is way to high..... it only needs to be around 79. 😊👍
@matthewt3725 жыл бұрын
so it is possible to run a rack system in a room where you can't manage the heat specifically for snakes? you just need a rack that holds heat better like your one with a back and sides?
@Balls2U5 жыл бұрын
Yes you can 👍🏼

Excellent video, when you produce quality snakes like you do there can't be anything wrong with your system and setup. People used to ask me about setting up a rack with one stat and I used to say can you heat your whole house with one radiator?

@papamidnightfpv5 жыл бұрын
I grow mushrooms and I can tell you that if mold is growing it means there is around 60% co2. Fresh air exchange or fae is the number one way mushroom growers combat mold. You're on track. Temp is also a factor. Fruiting mushrooms or mold happens above 65 degrees f. Fans in your snake room can help prevent mold. Also humidity levels are important for mold or mushroom production. Increasing air flow drops rh it relative humidity. Finding this balance is important but understanding what is growing and what is actually occurring in the micro climate is so important. I don't know everything about snakes but I produced spores for an olive vendor for years, I know fungus. If anybody take this advice and looks into what is growing in your enclosures you will understand what you need to change for the benefit of your animals. These Are All Indicators To What Your Snake Is Living in.

Sweet as now my bps are adding up want to switch to a rack but some of the professional ones are soooo expensive. Whereas there's are like 500 for ten levels ain't to bad but because I've seen no product reviews it's always a gamble ay. Enjoy the content keep it up!
