You did ECAM actions by memory. There are only 4 memory items as per FCOM. The memory items are the one which are boxed.

Not quite like that actually also. The procedures in the video are also old. Currently FCTM states that EMER DES flows (including some items of QRH MEM EMER DES) to be done by PF and PM which include only crew oxy masks for both PF and PM. Then for PF, EMER DES initiate, FMA Announce, if A/THR not active THR LVRs idle and SPD BRK full. As for PM, Signs On and FMA Check. Besides, let's also correct something. Boxed items are misunderstood as to be memorized only other than the rest of the QRH MEM items. However, all items and information in MEM are memory items actually! Boxed items are just for quick pilot refer. Therefore, first application is to apply the flows by memory then ECAM and then QRH for EMER DES. Companies' OMPART A and B can also suggest some procedures or announcements to do.

Little bit of disappointment. 1. There were no indications of a structural damage, nevertheless you decided you have one. OK, it was a scenario, but In this case - why you gentlemen decided to deploy SPD BRK, increasing an airframe stress? 2. No commutation with a cabin. 3. Once you fly away from airway, you need MORA, or MVA, not minimum airway altitude as you said ( whatever it means, probably MEA). 4. You had ECAM double cabin pressure system failure, nevertheless, being convinced with a structural issue, you misinformed an ATCO you have a damage .5.....proverbial oxy masks, lot or people already said, I omit. 6. Just turning away from airway is not enough, you should consider a terrain and traffic around. 7. Very much formal FMA reading, not even "checked" of PM. 8. Not exact format of MAYDAY message. You are making me sad, guys, your BAA is a very famous organisation with very aggressive marketing policy. BAA like a BA, Abibas like Adidas, I nearly sent my son there. The reality does not meet expectation. I am grateful to Heaven my son went across the ocean for FAA training. Be serious, gentlemen, this is your commercial!

The reason why everyone watches these videos is to learn the procedures in action, and they were wrong in many cases.

Using speedbrake is part of Airbus memory item checklist for emergency descent, even with structural damage Airbus still ask for speedbrake to fully extended, the only caution Airbus says is to maneuver with care

2 inconsistencies that I noted 1. Memory item steps do not comprise of 7700 and engine mode selector ignition. 2. Why didn't you take the landing gears? It is strongly recommended after passing 26000 ft.

Lots of problems with this exercise, regardless of whether this is a ECAM only demonstration or not, this should start with crew oxygen and coms. At the very least mention it, as it is the most important first response, regardless of what aircraft type or operation.

Ajit Raspayle The simulator has O2 masks for the pilots. It’s a valid question. In this case they may have only been interested in demonstrating the actual descent and donning the masks would make them harder to understand in the video for sure.

Beside that, there was an structural damage in this scenario, therefore is better to keep the actual indicated airspeed to avoid additional stress to the airframe.

Always multiply the FL by 100. FL 340 would be 34000ft ish. There a whole lot of explanation why they use FL and not the altitude in feet

Because you have to reduce your V/S. In case you don't, you may suffer an even worse disintegration of the cabin and probably blow everyone's ears out.

In this case looks only the CPCs were malfunctioned, and the airframe are intact, so aerodynamic shape was all good and actually we can increase TAS and use the speedbrake to descend faster if it requires. That's my opinion.lol

Khan Nguyen it says “manouvre with care” (because of aircraft structure) so if you don’t get any vibration you can icrease a little bit . You don’t go 300 + but neither 260 .. ( just my opinion )

@@arabuu01 i agree with you. in the airbus simulators if you suspect any damage ie. rapid EXPLOSIVE decompression then you reduce your speed. other than that, max appropriate speed. we used to practice these at 340kts descent lol didn't "damage" the plane in the simulator
