I was a high school senior in Southern California and I was there that day. I worked my way to about the equivalent of the 50th row front and center in the sea of humanity that glorious day. TRIUMPH owned the day! I mean, just listen to how incredibly awesome RIK EMMETT sings and plays in this live video. WOW!!! I am so honored that I would eventually get to meet RIK and the guys multiple times going forward and become TRIUMPHant friends. They invited me to Canada just recently (November 2019) to be part of a filming of a Triumph documentary that will come out sometime in 2020. They gave me a ton of Triumph music, memorabilia, shirts, etc and it all cost me a grand total of ZERO DOLLARS! Rik, Mike and Gil are just the coolest dudes ever! Love Triumph! Forever!

Same here, Canoga Park High. took two carloads there, one broke down so we all (8) piled into a datsun pickup with a shell on it.... hot as fuck... spent the night in line and were the first ones in running our asses off to get a good spot and naild it, top of the first rise was where we were. saw a friend while running in and he ripped a piece of "paper" in half, handed it to me and never saw him the rest of the day lolol. We had to sell weed for gas to get back to the valley, LOL was the best day of my life next to my son being born, Triumph absolutely KILLED it.

And the expensive headliners sucked (in my opinion).

Unfortunately Triumph were never really that well known in the US, with the exception of the hard rock fans. But like Rush they were able to pack arenas, so not all was lost. As much of a fan of early Van Halen I am, I never did see them live. Which is fine because I never liked paying money for a half assed show by a supposedly top tier band. And I've been let down by a few big acts. Save the cocktails and the dope for the after party.
