Bambie Thug "Doomsday Blue" REACTION | Ireland ESC 2024

Ireland has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 56 times since making its debut at the 1965 contest in Naples, missing only two contests since, in 1983 and 2002. The contest's final is broadcast in Ireland on RTÉ One. Ireland shares a joint record total of seven wins with Sweden, and is the only country to have won three times consecutively. Ireland has finished second four times, while Sweden has done that just once.
This year, in Eurovision 2024, Ireland will be represented by Bambie Thug, who's singing "Doomsday Blue".

Earlier in the competition thats what many people said about Serbia 2022's entry. Polarising and divisive and look what happened. 5th placer! This may not get the result as Konstrata but we have to give the credit where its due. Ireland is finally taking a risk. Qualifying or not at least they made an effort to vote for something unusual and in-your-face kind of entry. Respect for Ireland!

Funny. This is my favourite entry! I am immediately captivated by their performance. The blend of styles fit each other. I have to say I am used to screaming as singing for years. So for me when it comes it's more like a bassdrop in techno. I'm like yeah! Let it out! It fits the music so well! The chorus and accomanying dance also stick in my mind. I think the dance has some tiktok potential. My guess is that Bambie Thug is going to surprise you! The other music that they produce show the quality they have. It might not be your style, but in what they do they's really good. Give Love Bites and Tsunami a listen if you dare 😉

In 3 days Bambie Thug's performance has had more views than any Irish Eurosong performance ever. That combined with the change of odds (from 27th on Friday to 13th today) and fan reaction should answer your question about whether enough people will like it. Just because you hate it doesnt mean the rest of Europe will feel the same way.

Honestly, you judges the song before it even started. Youre refusing to see what a bold move this is for Ireland to send such a unique and interesting song. Additionally, eurovision is much more about the visuals and performance now as it is about the singing and the music. Bambie Thug - with the right production and performance - will easily achieve a Top 10 finish in the final. Sending Bambie best wishes and love from the UK 🇮🇪 🇬🇧

The part where you very briefly mentioned about this being a new trajectory for Ireland was sandwiched between disparaging comments with absolutely nothing to back it up other than, once again, preconceived ideas.

Ireland is the home of a lot of mythology and witchcraft! The runes and celtic symbols all have meaning The dancers are like pucca - irish shapeshifters and they sing like a banshee (irish spirit who forthwarn a death).
