@@IMaqua it’s beautifully shot. High def, good lighting, the pacing is right, you let us just observe at our pace, I hate when people just cut cut cut, it’s great when shots linger for a bit so we can enjoy the scenery and life inside. Nice choice of neutral classical music. Text on screen instead of voice is definitely my preference(I watch these videos at night to relax me to sleep). I’m starting with this river aquarium first and I’ll move on to another one afterwards. Very enjoyable. I’m happy someone recommended this channel to me. Thanks for your very very hard work on this channel!

I will transfer bamboo to the new river tank that I made with a lot of caves. At least I see bamboo shrimp more often than a vampire shrimp.

Another great video. I have a bamboo shrimp, too. Had him for about 6 months now. He loves to sit on the sponge filter and collect particles as they come in. He is a master at camouflage, especially when he molts. He disappears into the hardscape and it's almost impossible to find him. The tank is very mature so there's plenty of food for him. He's definitely been fun to keep. I can't wait to see more updates on this aquarium and to see what next you stock with. Take care and God bless.
@IMaqua2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Phil....yeah my experience has been more or less the same. Usually he has his timing; 9pm when lights go to 1% for an hour. Then he will go around the tank. Other than that he found his sweet spot, you will see in the next few episodes...

One of my bamboo shrimp escaped from my tank last month and I thought it was gone for good. However about four or five days later my cat caught something and lo and behold it was my shrimp and it was still alive. So I put it back in my tank but sadly it passed away but it amazed me that it survived so long out of water. I have five others in my sixty gallon tank and they all are doing well.

Getting a new 20 gal ready. Thinking I want to put a school of like 10 or 11 platy in there with a couple of live plants and what not. Would I be able to fit a snail or two and a bamboo shrimp in there without causing stress for the fish?
@IMaqua2 жыл бұрын
Yes you can, one bamboo will be enough. Just make sure there is enough flow in the tank because these shrimps are filter feeders.
@whodatking262 жыл бұрын
@@IMaqua I don't have massive flow but there's good movement consistently throughout the tank. All I have is soil, sand and 4 live plants with the heater and filter running, I've added a couple drops of this stuff that's supposed to help the water get clean.
@IMaqua2 жыл бұрын
Good water movement is sufficient. Bamboo shrimps are shy and love to hide so they also need rocks, caves, wood and a lot of plants. I rarely see my shrimps, maybe once a week.
@whodatking262 жыл бұрын
@@IMaqua my biggest issue has been those sucker fish. They get huge and everything gets off balance after a while and before I know it half the fish are dead and I have a foot long frankinfish sitting at the bottom. I don't want to have snails making babies in the tank since it's only a 20 gal so I'm really trying to find the right combination to have a school of platies and also have help with cleaning glass and waste management.
@IMaqua2 жыл бұрын
If by sucker fish you mean plecos avoid they those fish, they are too big for small tanks. I have snails in all my aquariums and they are not a problem, don't overfeed and they won't over-breed.
