Nice vid., just got an A1 mini myself so was interested in how to maintain. One thing when showing tasks show or describe any commands on the touch pad as well. eg. manually moving the arm up and down to distribute the oil when cleaning.

Did you wash your print bed? I am seeing people say that's a good idea, but not 100% sure about doing it with the textured plate. Should I use regular dish soap and hot water?

I recommend applying the oil or grease directly to foam swabs and then lubricating with those. No drips and much easier faster for any lubrication maintenance. Gets all the nook, crannies, and channels.

The ease of changing the hot end is a big reason I just bought an A1 Mini instead of a P1S. I'm guessing that the next version (P2S?) will have this, but I didn't want to spend $500 extra on something with less quality-of-life upgrades built in, especially with my previous experiences with fdm printers.

If some PXS will have quick release nozzles be assured - it will be incompatible with everything before = ) Just like AMS light is compatible only with A1 and A1 mini. And vise versa, normal AMS is not compatible with A1 and A1 mini. = ) You know, an iPhone in 3d printing. = )

Hey bro, I really enjoy your channel. And I want to give you a little hint on growth. Your Thumbnails are amazings. Aswell as you style. But I looked at the tags of you video. In some videos they dont even show up in search, maybe you can try around that more. Your description is also good for SEO.

Does Bambu Labs send you oil for maintenance or do we buy that separately?
@FilamentFoundry4 ай бұрын
There should be oil that comes with it but if you have already used it there’s a link in the description

Thanks for the video. I love my A1. It was a steal at $250 and now it’s $200? Wooooo. I like my first machine which was an Ender V3 SE but this A1 takes a meaty 💩 on it.

my first machine was a ender 3 pro which was basically like the Stone Age of 3d printing lol

I use gun Gun Tips. Firearm cleaning swabs. They are not cotton and work well for the underside of the cross axis.

❤ Do you know if the a1 models have the same privacy concerns as the x1 and p1s, etc? Does the printer need to be registered with an internet connection and does it send data back to Bambulab?
@FilamentFoundry6 ай бұрын
I believe it has a lan mode if you wait till I’m home from work I’ll check for you 🙂 might actually be a good video idea 💡

@@FilamentFoundry I cannot remember the specifics exactly, but I think that the owner of the 3d musketeers youtube channel was saying that there were also concerns about terms in the user licence agreement for these machines and that you would not want to use those models if you used your printers for any kind of commercial work or wanted to protect the ownership/privacy of any files you are/have worked on.
@FilamentFoundry6 ай бұрын
@@arielmarshall5501 that's more than likely true and for most cases I would be worried about it but for me and my business it wouldn't make much of a difference as I give away a lot of my designs for free . but I am looking to build a voron or pursa in July to a look to switching my print farm to on of them brands as I find working on my bambus too much of a pain and slows down the farm way too much
@arielmarshall55016 ай бұрын
@@FilamentFoundry I own some Prusa mk3s+ machines and I am reasonably happy with them, good documentation, etc. Still my recommendation for most print farm owners, simply due to the importance of customer support and the size of the community. I would love some Bambu machines, but like I said I have concerns about it restricting me financially.

easier tip is to just put some cloth or paper on the bed which you're applying oil so any drops don't hit the bed

And they say that Bambu printers for those who do not like tinker with printer = ) But on the contrary, those complex mechanics need a lot of accurate maintenance. I use my Ender 3 (on POM wheels) for two years, and never ever done anything like that. Actually I did not oil anything at all. Waiting for a POM Z nut, to degrease z spindel once and for all. POM nut does not require oiling at all. And POM wheels do not need oiling at all. BTW, I print 8x8 cell multiboard in 3 hours and 40 minutes(in PETG) for you to check with your printer speed. Oh... A1 mini will not fit 8x8 cell mutiboard... At least they say that some Bambu printer will print it in 2 hour 30 minute. I guess I am OK with my speeds for $100 and zero maintenance = ) (I installed only 3d printed DD mod and fixed the bed with aluminum foil, also using PEI, and that's all, no heavy modding like 2 minute benchy girl... Of course I bought some parts, so I guess it is near $150 now (plus $50), and it can heat up the bed even more than 100C, not locked to 80C, and again, zero maintenance, also you need a wrench to change the nozzle, but a couple of nozzles cost nearly nothing, so I guess, I am OK with that)
