I think two big problems with them is they had some quality control issues plus for a while they were known for not really having anything special about them while newer printers were getting a ton of useful features for a similar price. However, from what I can tell, they have now caught up and their printers now offer plenty of features, print faster, and have better print quality than before. I'm not sure about quality control, but I'm sure that went up too. Either way, you're right, they made 3d printing a lot more affordable and brought a ton of people to it. 3d printing probably wouldn't be quite where it is today without Creality.

This shows exactly the huge transformation in 3d printing. Creality have been in the game a long time but it took a company like Bambu lab to shake up the whole industry so people can get into 3d printing without the learning curve of flow calcs, bed levelling, retraction settings, stepper motor tuning and slicing settings that we all had to understand to tune our printers for great results. It’s great that other manufacturers as you have shown and stated in your videos are able to match the experience that you could only enjoy if you had a Bambu printer. If anything today Bambu lab will need to play a bit of catch up in the area of larger format printers, fingers crossed we will see something in the next few weeks. what the next evolutionary step will be and who brings it to the 3d printing community is going to be very exciting.

@@LoyalMosesTrue. I was contemplating buying myself a Bambu P1S since it's $599 right now, but my Micro Center has a Creality K1 Max for only $699 so I'm gonna buy that instead. Watched lots of videos reviewing their performances and Creality did good with their latest machines not making me have to manually tune and tweak parts, leveling, and learning the ins and outs of a machine just to make it print out of the box like it should. The ender 3 pro days were a fun learning experience but I don't have time nowadays to force and kick a machine I paid with my own money to do what I paid for it to do, or buy expensive upgrades for it like I upgrade my gf's boobs 😅

" to match the experience that you could only enjoy if you had a Bambu printer." ... I disagree there. *A flawless experience has always been Prusa* ... especially with their MK3 and newer! Funny thing is: many people didn't want to put their cash down and bought a cheaper Ender 3 back in the day ... but suddenly those people are willing to give north of 1000 bucks to Bambu Lab and compare that to their old Ender 3 machines. Apples and bananas. And a fast experience has been Voron with Klipper ... long before Bambu Lab was born. No wonder why Bambu copied so much of these projects and companies. But without the Voron project, Klipper, PrusaSlicer and even machines like the Ender 2 (Pro) or Prusa Mini ... there would have never been a Bambu Lab, because they would have chosen another field as they described in interviews.

Bambu A1 by a long shot. Bigger build volume, multi-color capability, quick swap nozzles, dynamic flow calibration, etc. It's just amazing. The ender 3 V3 is commendable, it's just outclassed here. It's more of a $250 machine.

Combine that with cheap 1st party filament, PLA and PETG for $15 a roll for refills when you buy 4 at a time with free shipping. You can’t beat that. The spools are also sturdy and easy to load refills, combined with rfid recognition. It’s hard to beat Bambu. Creality would have to come in much cheaper.

I got an A1 last week . It has been much better than I expected . I did not get the AMS as i dont really need multi color prints , but I have since learned AMS can be used to keep feeding filaments if your current spool runs out . Only thing i found lacking was by default the A1 build plate is textured PEI on both sides . My CRUX 1 was textured and smooth on the other side. So I orderd the textured and smooth extra build plate. It's needed for printing stuff when needing smooth mating surfaces. The flow calibration has even let me print with some old low quality filament that changes dia. quite a bit. It printed many print-in-palce parts using that bad stuff witout under or over extruding, I found that amazing. I plan to keep feeding it all my old problem filaments, just to see how it does.

Hi I do have the AMS and it switches during the print from one spool to the next fully automatically , IF the next spool is the same type and the same colour, so no more small left overs of filament. I normally have 4 colours on the AMS, but if one colour is getting low, I swap one of the other colours with the same as the one that is getting too low, and the print does not even stop, Great Machine the A1

My bambu didn't need any research to have success. Bumbu is clearly a great option. However my bambu cost more than I spent on all 3 of the enders so they have their place.

Just ordered an Ender 3 V3 off ebay refurb using their current promo. The A1 does not have a hardened steel nozzle so it is not recommended to use PETG-CF or other CF w/o swapping the nozzle. The E3V3 comes with a hardened steel nozzle. I'm not sure if/when I'll use CF filaments - buts just sharing info about the nozzle. Not sure if I made the right choice, given the smaller build volume, but cost was under $200 w/ 2 year warranty for E3V3. Both printers are on sale for $300 on their respective websites as of now. Great video, BTW. Thank you.

I’ll just chime in here and add my experience with the A1. I had one for about 6 months. Overall I’d say for a bed slinger it was the easiest to assemble and get printing straight out of the box. Print quality was as good as my fleet of X1c, P1P, P1S, and various Rat rig printers, when it was successful. The multi color option works almost as good as the core xy Bambu printers and auto spool change when you run out worked as intended. Also I did like that you virtually could use any spool with the AMS lite though some spools required an insert to properly fit on a spool holder that is easily printed. The quick change modules work very good, and is a very nice feature. With all that said the A1 is no longer a part of my print farm. I had multiple issues with mine knocking prints off the build plate, which in my opinion is the major downfall of any bedslinger. The failure rate on the A1 was abysmal at nearly 50%. Maybe it was the one I had but I tried adjusting x hop, switching from Bambu studio to Orca slicer, glue stick on the bed, to no avail. It was hard having this machine, the only bed slinger in my shop, in with multiple core xy printers. Had the failure rate not been so bad I’d likely still have it in my shop, but instead it only reinforced my opinion that for me I should stick with core xy printers. And finally I want to touch on some of the comments about “security” with Bambu. The comments always seem to creep into nearly every video about Bambu. First I have to ask what exactly is it you are printing that your that worried someone at Bambu is going to steal, and in regards to camera privacy, the A1 has a cover, and it’s not difficult to place an item to block outside view of the printer. You can even use the printer in lab only mode or not connect it to WiFi at all and use the SD card if your that worried about “security”. Also if someone wants to copy your secret files so bad it’s not that hard to simply copy the design. I’d worry more about your cell phone, computer, tablet and alexia equipped devices prying into your privacy then a 3D printer.

I've gotten into 3D printing with an Ender 3 V3 SE and it's been great, looking for an upgrade but I think I might stick with Creality. The Bambu's dual filament feature drives me away actually. I've seen videos on the A1 and it's just simply too wasteful, the amount of "poo" it generates can sometimes even outweigh a finished product, I don't see a reason to purchase a printer with this feature until we have an easy, reliable and efficient way of Recyling PLA's. Keep the content coming, great stuff!

Enjoyed the video. Hmmm. Which would i pick. If i did not know anything about either brand and you gave me this choice i would have a very difficult decision I think even if i could put hands on both feeling the build quality. All that being said and knowing what i know right now i would without a doubt go with the Bambu A1! That is not really a dig at Creality as i own a Creality KE and I really like it. The Bambu A1 is a more polished printer with much more under the hood than people might realize. Even with that statement above, if you put both prints in front of me and asked me which printer printed which part, I don't think it would be a clear cut choice. As far as slicer goes, comparing Bambu and Creality Print, i choose Bambu! I'm sorry i do not like the new Creality Print slicer. I know its a personal choice and not a bad attempt as making their own "cut" of other slicers but I am sure why some vendors are choosing this option. Orca is so good and already does everything you could want it to do. Why not create a "tuned" profile for your printers and release that for the popular slicers that are available. (ie Cura, Orca, Prusa...)? Thanks for the comparison video Loyal.

I would choose the Ender 3 V3 ... if not the cheaper KE/ SE model over the Bambu Lab, although I know the Bambu seems to be a good deal. As I understand Bambu Lab is undercutting the market with those cheap Chinese production costs and they copied many of their features from other projects ... but do not give something back. Nearly every feature has been invented from someone else. And not giving back (like an open source AMS system) is slowing innovation. Creality tried similar tactics but has done a good deal for the 3d printing community. Because of all those Ender 3s many people became makers. Some of their designs were even open source and an "inspiration" for others (Ender 2 inspired Prusa Mini and Bambu A1 Mini). I hope they improve further (like with their app which has gotten so much better!). But when a European company (Prusa) has nothing to offer in that price range ... I would choose Creality. Their Ender 3 V3, K1c and K2 offerings do not have to hide and have come a long, long way from the OG Ender 2 and 3.

Your choice of printer is great, those are nice machines, and I highly recommend them all the time for a multitude of reasons -- your other statements are absolutely what is wrong with a lot of the 3D printing community today. Simple nonsense. It reminds me of a bunch of people who bought into a team, and now their team is losing and they can't cope. Creality has brought an unbelievable amount of people into this industry over the years, and Bambu Lab has done the same. Bambu is bringing millions of people into our industry and has actually caused a massive shift in the quality and user experience of 3D printing, all for the better. Bambu is not building cheap machines, they are in-fact building extremely high-end machines at incredibly low prices, which is exactly what people want. If someone can find a reason why this is bad, their opinion is worthless. This nonsensical hatred and bias needs to end, these are just 3D printers, and the emotional connection that people put into a device that sits on a desk and spits plastic is in my opinion, quite silly. These people need to go outside, and touch a little grass. As for your "slowing innovation" comment... multi-color printing has been around for a decade, but why wasn't it popular? I'll tell you why, it was junk - it was open source, and it was worthless - we all used it, we all tried it, it was a terrible experience. It took a company that invested millions of dollars into R&D as well as manufacturing to bring multi-color 3D printing to the masses.

Almost a year later, Ender 3 was out of the box, and failed to perform Z-Offset test and create a map due to the faulty electronics, and for almost a month(3 weeks) all I get, is bouncing around their tech departments where they recommend firmware updates, as well as prove of checking for "straightness" and levelness of the printer frame, which was Ok, but that did not fix a problem, and every time they demand pictures and videos, that is about 10-15 minutes long, then demand another video and ect. with no solution in sight. -- Besides design and build quality of A1 is far superior rail vs. round sliders, and in many other respects. I'm a wrong person to ask about Creality Cloud, but I think, if you have to print, you still have to download STL files, and then slicer converts those to G-code, but I'm not sure, since I got printer for creating my own parts, and wish I'd knew what I know right now about these two printers. I'm a disgruntled Ender 3V3 user. While I think, hardware wise, it's a very solid printer, it has been tragically crippled by BAD firmware. (even after a year and a half... No one has come up with a custom firmware yet) If you're happy doing simple prints and using creality's slicer... You'll be fine. But if you want to customise your experience with Octoprint (for local wireless connectivity) or use a slicer other than creality (like Prusa Slicer or Orca) you will find the experience to be PAINFUL! Bambu A1 for the win. I will be selling my V3 and getting an A1 asap.

The A1's hotend and nozzle will still be available from Bambu in X years. Creality has the habit of changing parts like that with every iteration of their printers and then after a couple of years you can no longer get the replacement parts you need for your printer and are forced to buy a new one. So, just for the professional after-market supplies I'd go with the Bambu.
@LoyalMoses
@LoyalMoses 5 ай бұрын
This is interesting, because the number one complaint from the anti-Bambu crowd is that Bambu will suddenly stop making aftermarket parts, which of course is nonsense. Creality by far has the largest number of aftermarket parts for their printers, with entire companies existing to provide upgrades and mods for them. Further, for the most part, especially with a quickly moving technology, keeping a 4 or 5 year old or more printer around doesn't make sense - the tech is advancing so fast, it is wiser to buy a newer machine. Of course, there are reasons someone may not want to or be able to buy new, and if someone wants to keep an old printer around, there are unlimited aftermarket upgrades and modifications, so nothing is really getting in the way with either of the machines.

Creality Print is hot garbage compared to Bambu Studio. The slicer wars are over and Prusa won. If you have your printer on something other than Prusa Slicer, Bambu Studio or Orca Slicer, you should do something about that. I've been doing custom parts on Creality Print for the last few weeks and more often than not I wind up doing the work on Bambu Studio and then pulling it up in Creality to print on my K1 Max. The Max is a worthy printer (not Bambu-worthy but bigger), but if I ever take the time to figure out how to network print with it using Orca, I'll uninstall Creality Print in a heartbeat. The fact that the A1 has AMS Lite puts these two printers in completely different classes. It's easy to minimize the impact of an AMS in a review or on paper, but if you have printers that have one and those those don't and you do a lot of printing, you quickly realize that printers without AMS are second class citizens, and that's even if you seldom do multi-color prints. Just the ability to stack four spools of the same material/color in the AMS and not having to worry about whether you have enough filament to complete the next 30-hour print job is priceless. Right now I'm on hour 29.5 of a 32.5 hour print, printing on the last few turns of a spool of yellow PETG, with another remnant spool in the AMS and a full spool behind that, and I don't have to watch it or stay up late so I can change the spool at just the right time. If I want to do my next job in Blue silk PLA, I just put the roll in the AMS and click print once I take the PETG off the bed. If you're buying printers based on the hope that Creality may make their AMS work with their older printers, then you're Charlie Brown to Creality's Lucy. She's going to pull that football away and you're bonkers if you bet against it. I won't go into overall user experience. Bambu has it nailed and Creality doesn't know it exists. Do I have faith the K2 will level the playing field? It's not possible if you're not playing on the same field. Creality needs to hire a team of talented engineers to just study and copy the Bambu experience. If they don't, some other company is going to get their first and offer a suite of Klipperized printers with a unified, positive user experience and give Bambu a run for their money and relegate Creality to an object lesson.

I bought a Ender 3 v3 in December and I was really looking forward to the printer as I am making 1/10 scale (printed) RC models. The auto level and speed was the main reason I thought this would be a great replacement for my old Ender 3 v2. Sadly this printer jams quite a lot (printing PETG) and when it does you can not easy clear it either, you have to take apart the whole print head. I have tried replacing hot end for a new Creality one but that also did not solve the problem. note I print on the same speeds as the old ender 3 so it was not a speed issue the Ender 3 S1 Pro I have does exactly the same prints with no issues at all, so did the old Ender 3 V2. If those printers have a jam (happens a LOT less) its fixed in 10 sec with nothing you have to take appart. Sadly I would never buy this printer (or any printer with the same printer head) again as it has cost me a lot of time effort and frustration to try to get it to work. Looks like I have to cut my loss and look for a new reliable printer. (Most likely the A1)

I have an Ender 3 V3 SE, and I think that the Bambu Lab A1 might be better because it is less maintenance and overall just gives more features for the money it costs.

Great comparison video! Clean up close shots of the prints and very well laid out information on both of these machines. I lean towards the bambu but not by much. Just curious, what mic do you use? Me and my wife do 3DP content as well and took a while to work out the audio! Your audio is great!

Thanks! Audio can be tough for sure. I use a RODE Wireless GO II for my lav mics.
