I have 2 questions, i want to build exactly that enclosure for my P1P with the X1C door, does it can run very hot inside? Im going to print only with PLA and PETG, and the other, do you put the fan to the motherboard? Or is not neccessary for your enclosure?
@tombeardy4833 Жыл бұрын
Sure it "can" if you would always print with 100 degrees on the buildplate but even then - since i used the opened glasscover raiser and also didnt built in any "rear"- plate there is enough ventilation to keep the temp way lower compared to an absolute closed buildvolume. No not yet. I might will, just for fun but this would mostly be necessary if you cover the rear section of the printer as well since there are some vent-holes for the board :) But since, esp pla - and maybe if you also use the Cool-Plate you wont get any craty temps anyway 😊

@tombeardy4833 Жыл бұрын
Well it really depends why wou want to switch? If its the speed? Then 100%. Hey Thomas. Great video, informative and precise. Just waiting for my P1P to be shipped having a cr6-se for a few years looking forward to quicker and quality prints. Well done. Can i just ask what has been your go-to filament for this?

Hey! To be honest i print a ton of brands. Lots of Extrudr, Polymaker, Sunlu, Esun, Amazon Basics, aswell as currently also fillamentum and formfutura. All are running smooth!😊 Hope i can welcome you as a subscribee as well if you like that video :) Best wishes!

Wouldn't of it been cheaper to just buy a X1? In terms of all the upgrades seems coming close to that ?
@tombeardy4833 Жыл бұрын
Well since theres no more X1 only X1C def no :) Talking im € i end up at about 1000-1050€ (before the Sale so now around 850-900€). Thats still 300 less. Add 50 and you get a AMS on top for the same price😊
@dexxeve9420 Жыл бұрын
@@tombeardy4833 Ta for the reply i didn't know they just sold the X1C, the carbon is overkill a bit. Hence i was leaning P1P. But I have herd that the AMS system breaks ( i won't use AMS). But 300 is still a saving. What is the X1 like with flexible filament and ABS ? Can it print those fast too ?

Very well done, I agree we need to see your cost worksheet. I thought the X1 had a larger volume too. I also thought the LIDAR was cool tech I have struggled with some 1st layer issues on my CR 10S Pro. I need to consider the screen too as i am much older I enjoy a larger screen. old eyes. Also it would open me up to use more specialized materials for my Model Train parts. Well done, see you again. Dennis
@tombeardy4833 Жыл бұрын
Hey Dennis! Thanks a lot! First layer issues arent a thing with the P1P either :) To be honest you dont rly use the screen, at least i only do for stopping a print if something goes wrong and i dont have the time to use my app or laptop :) But everyone is different :) The costs are EU based €801 for the printer and roundabout €215 for the Upgrades. So considering the X1C is at 1349 you just need €100 and can already get the AMS in that price :) Thanks a lot!😊

I've owned and upgrade a ender 5 plus for 2-3 years now. Just had another hotend clog so I am ready to move on to something that I can focus more on printing than tinkering. I also want to print multicolor. I am torn between the MK4 with an MMU3 (currently not available), a X1C, or P1P. What would you recommend?
@tombeardy4833 Жыл бұрын
Its hars to tell since i dont own an MK4 or MMU but i can tell you that the AMS works so well softwarewise and is WAAAAAAAAAAY cheaper so id lean towards that setup. Esp since you have controll and record option due the camera, tons of calibrarions preinstalled and ofc the speed + housing.If you have the cash and dont care + want less wasted material id tend to get the Prusa XL tbh :)
@TheBrazilWill Жыл бұрын
@@tombeardy4833 yeah I was going to stick to the same price bracket (under 2k) hence the MK4. I think the XL + MMU3 would put me on a $2350 USD and I am not sure when either would be in stock and delivered. I placed the order for the X1C today. I almost went with the P1P because it is $599 right now and your video appealed to my tinker side…
@tombeardy4833 Жыл бұрын
Yeah the P1P makes a lot of fun with those small upgrade steps and also getting a personal touch to it :) And th3 price is brutal too. Compared to the X1C you can nearly fit an AMS in the basket incl all upgrades to hit the X1Cs price. But i was also thinking about getting oke tbh.. not for lidar but for the screen and the chamber temp control😅

For all the waste the AMS produces and for the extra time needed, theese would be partialy avoidable with some some design changes: a) if you unload filament, the tip of the filament was already molten. Therefore it can be problematic to reload it, as the filament tip is out of shape. There are two solutions: With a special ramping profile and heatbreak/nozzle combination the filament tip is "reformed". Actually this works best with a nozzle with normal sized meltzone (like e3d v6) and a special heatbreak (the Prusa mk3 has a special internal design to form the tip on unloading for the MMU2). The standard Revo even works better. Also it depends on the material; PLA works best (PETG has more stinging). This solution (for different colours, but same material) only needs to wipe out some residue from the previous filament inside the nozzle - and there are modes like wipe2infill or wipe2wasteobject to actually use the material instead deposing it. This way isn't the most beginner friendly, but the least wastefull on multicolour PLA prints. The other approch is to cut the filament between the feeder and the heatbreak on unload. This way the filament tip is perfect every time. Filamentchange does not need finetuning profiles for diferent materials/brands/temperatures - it simply works. However the downside of this beginner-friendly solution is the need to purge the remaining old filament inside the heatbreak and the nozzle. Wich is a lot of waste, so a simple whipe tower isn't enough - a poo-ejection is needed. But there is no problem with PET-G or different materials in general. Obviously you can see this is bambulabs approch. But: In my opinion Bambulabs should release a "normal flow" hotend for multicolour (not multimaterial!) prints, with integrated heatbreak (like the Revo or the Trianglelabs CHC) to alternativly use the older method. Even with lower printing speed (due to lower volumetric flow with a smaler meltzone) the filament change would be a lot faster and waste would decrease (esp. with wipe to infill or wipe2waseobject). While this is definitly for more advanced users (and please dry your filament before), in my opinion this wouldn't have a downside (as you can always swich back to poo-mode) and could save a lot of filament. Actually it wouldn't cost a lot - just a hotend for this mode (you could use third party parts to make it yourself) and some firmware changes (I do not like closed source...). Still, the cutting-method would still be usefull if printing easy to remove support (the PLA/PET-G-trick f.e.) or printing with higher temeratures (I print silk PLA often with higher temperatur to get a bit more layer adheason, bit it also stings a lot on unload). But normaly you have much less material changes if you use the AMS only for this instead doing a full colour print. I would realy like bambulab combining theese two methods and let the user decide. b) The filament-hub inside the AMS ín my opinion is placed wrong. It should be placed directly before the bowden goes inside the printer. Shortest way for the shared tube. As soon the unloaded filament has left the hub, the next can be loaded. The momentarly not used filament always waiting directly in front of the hub, ready to go.

The printer was a bit complicated to hook up kzbin.infoUgkxciSwynMJ7PnUvvx11rewiu-yFBkZTl53 but it does the job very efficiently. I like the ink wells versus the ink cartages that cost an arm and a leg. It prints quickly and the quality is excellent. It shuts off when not in use, so you have to remember to turn it on. Overall, it exceeds my expectations. I'll update my review in a couple of months.
