So occasionally when we upload SVG files they are made of hundreds of smaller parts. This tutorial will show you how to group them and reduce the total number in some simple steps.

Another fantastic video! Would love to see a video on best settings for using a smooth plate with holographic effects on it, having a heck of a time getting smooth "top facing down" coaster print.

That would make for an interesting video. I have a bunch of PEO plates and almoste made a video about them but another topic won out in a survey.

Nice video! I’m new to working with SVG’s in Bambu Studio. I just played with making a sign for my nice and I had a heck of a time getting pieces to be different thicknesses and putting the text on top of some of the backing pieces. I think i was messing with it for like 3 hours until I finally got it. Not sure if you have any tips on doing some of that. I’m still working my way through your videos. Keep up the good work!

Hello, and thank you. This video should help with raising or lowering parts of an SVG kzbin.info/www/bejne/f5aoiWmsoN-Dars If you are placing text on the raised svg part you may need to *turn off* "Surface". I made a short unlisted video for you. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eKTLhJisjMl8jKM If you need further assistance I'll try to help.

Interesting information - your channel helps me a lot to process SVGs in BambuStudio. What often happens to me with imported SVGs especially created with vectorizer but also from other sources: the created 3D object in BambuStudio has holes and some parts are just left out and missing. I have no idea when and why this effect occurs and printing objects with holes doesn't make sense. Do you have an idea what happens there or what I could do to avoid the holes or if they could be "filled" in BambuStudio? Anyway - great channel and I learn a lot. Thank you very much!

Thank you. I think we can make a short video on that. I didnt want to go to I depth with vectorizer as they have that "free with beta" tag and I try to keep things as free as possible. Thank you for commenting

@@ashleys3dprintshopactually I'm having the exact problem. I've been trying to fix a few holes in a logo. Can't figure out how to do it. It's just four small holes. But it's driving me crazy

When you paint just the top layer, does it put down enough color so let's say white will not show the black beneath it or will it look grey?

Hello, The first few layers being painted and the rest being white worked out well. There wasnt any color bleeding or grey parts with that number of layers. YMMV depending on your filament though.

What is the difference between an object and a part, and why is "split into parts" almost never something I can do? adding, I am trying to figure out how to combine two objects, but only paint the top and bottom layer of the inner object; the middle could be the same color as the other object to save time, is there a way to do that?

Here is the wiki answer first wiki.bambulab.com/en/software/bambu-studio/split-to-objects-parts *********** The long answer is...it depends on the model and how it was imported. Some models are already "broken" into pieces and when you import them the slicer will give you an option to assemble or leave them in parts/objects. for instance here kzbin.info/www/bejne/iZWXna2un5Kjgqs If you assemble them at import you can break them up into objects again. If they are assembled and meshed boolean is used you may be able to split then into parts again.(but not always) It gets confusing because they are named parts and objects and mostly similar. If the model is already a whole piece and was never separate, and you need to make them more manageable, you would use the *cut tool*. As for the SVG they are already in "parts" so you would only be able to split to object manipulate them . **************** The short answer is if you have to option split into objects, the model breaks apart and drops each part to the build plate If split into parts is an option it will leave the parts where they are. So if they are higher on the model(for coloring etc) they will stay where they are but be "separate" ***** so in the video I showed if I *split into objects* the arm and higher parts snap to the build plate. If I mesh boolean then split into parts they stay where they were and print together. If that is still confusing drop me a comment and I will try to make a quick video later.

I just saw your edit. Here is the other half. IF you are combining 2 objects you would assemble them and move them. Without seeing the item can give you a very basic overview. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qpCmfKehedGgprM
