Most of these "bass synth" pedals are actually lousy at producing some real bass synth sounds, the type you hear in soul, funk, r&b, rap etc. Have literally never seen a player from those genres demoing one. But that's the only reason I need one, to play in those styles. Right now, I use the synth effect in my Boss GT1-B. It's pretty good, just tracking is spotty. Also, creating synth-like sounds by combining other effects like octaver + low gain + envelope etc......

I like mini ones but people need to acknowledge they were prolly inspired by the cheap pedals everyone hates. They're good for some setups and not necessary, but work well for some pedal chains/setups...

I never really see any of the many bass synth pedal demos actually play some real synth bass. Most of these guys are rockers of some sort. No offense, but they don't seem to know what it is. To me, all those sound effect like sounds ain't it. The bass synth sound I want is pure bass role. Like, "Flashlight", "Just Be Good to Me", etc. Hell, even "24k Magic". Most of these pedals are not capable of producing those sounds, too high pitched
