@@chuckvelten5337 It's a shame Kanami's solo is buried in the mix. It's one of her longest and best solos. Perhaps others would feel differently if it was easier to recognize the shredding at the end.

I may be wrong but for me, it is a song adressed to people (young people) in dire pain and considering suicide. The second part of the song (when the colors appears) is extremely uplifting. Yes life is beautifull (thx to Band-Maid partly).

Yup. Kudos. Getting tired of reactors who, for example, think Blooming is an upbeat tune when it is angst ridden, full of self doubt and features one pissed off small pigeon. My best regards.

I have a fairly extensive music listening, creation, and performing background. My main musical interests these past years lie everywhere from Senri Kawaguchi, Hiromi Uehara, and Yuga Wang… to The Warning, Jinjer, and Band-Maid, to name a few. However with Band-Maid I have, let’s call it, a healthy obsession. Since 2014, I've loved this band more than any other and have seen and read everything I can find on them since that time. One of the biggest thrills of my life was to meet them and witness their live performance in LA in 2019. I’m just biding my time until I can get to another B-M concert. However, I am perplexed and disappointed why B-M doesn’t gain fans at a higher rate. For instance, they currently attract about a 1,000 new YT subscribers every few weeks. I mean, there are reactors that have more subscribers and cheesy pop acts with tens-of-millions views. They should be, IMO, as big or bigger than bands like the Foo Fighters and RUSH (was). But I fully expect them to reach that level in 2-3 years. The only beef I have with them (probably more with Kanami, who’s closest to my heart) is sometimes their soundscape is too dense (too much playing / not enough air), and too much overall compression. Her lead guitar work can get buried (Endless Story, etc.), and that they (and their mgmt.) let the Shibuya DVD/BD go out with a bad mix on the instruments and ambience. Just compare the punchy Choose Me MV with the soggy Shibuya version. I'm all for the "like being there" ambience, but not at the expense of burying Kanami's guitar or mudding up MISA. However, thankfully, the drums and vocal mix were super. I’m hoping the girls come out with a version 3 of Band-Maid in 2022 with new outfits (more maid rock, less maid frump), more prog & epic, heavy writing (but still experimenting with melding pop, blues, punk, funk and grunge genres into their hard rock music), and new stage stuff (Miku could update her great MC bit, and the Maids could still goof around) as long as they REMAIN AUTHENTIC - which is the most important aspect I love about Band-Maid. I could go on about them as I have years of writing and thinking about it. But I’ll stop for now. Thx, Ryan!

For me, listening to a BAND-MAID song is like watching an episode of Rick & Morty. You know the formula but you don't know how they're going to put everything together. You have to watch it multiple times to get all the details because they don't throw things randomly, everything has a purpose and make sense at the end. CONQUEROR is my favorite BAND-MAID album, a rollercoaster of emotions and it's maybe their most accessible album but still filled with complex instrumental parts. The only downside for some is maybe that it's not a cohesive album musically. Perhaps, they just wanted to show that they can fit in any genre of music. Or that there's a new genre in town called BAND-MAID. Thank you Ryan

Hey Ryan, check this out! When I saw Band-Maid in 2019 at The Echoplex, I was engaging in conversation with another dude and I had told him that Endless Story was my least liked song from the ladies! 😂 after they performed it live and how the crowd sang along it was electrifying! It it now one of my favorites! Though it’s poppy they know how to rock it! Band-Maid is on a very high level of intensity compared to other bands! This song closed the Line Cube concert in Shibuya, so far the last one with a crowd. That's its element, the song was played right after a little speech by Saiki thanking the fans for their support ... and then it came to life. It is an anthem, a song designed to sing along with the fans, emotional and grateful. With the perspective of now, after Different and Unseen World, it is almost laughable to remember the reaction of some fans, in the moment of its launching, claiming that the girls were selling their souls to the devil of pop music. Thank you for sharing your Band Maid digging journey with us, it's like remembering how we felt when we first listened the songs.

The last 3 songs on their Line Cube Shibuya disc (which all maidiacs should of course own), are Play, Domination and Endless Story. The first impression I had was to question the order, so they finish with something more rollicking like Play or Domination - but this actually worked very well as a closer, I must now admit, as there is a strong emotional pull to it. It was a very moving song to end the show with.

Was sitting in the IMAX theater waiting for DUNE to start when I got the notification that this reaction dropped. :) While this isn't a "typical" Band-Maid song (of course what IS a typical Band-Maid song?????) it is unmistakably a Band-Maid song. Every songwriter/composer worth their salt has a "style" all their own that you KNOW when you hear that song who wrote it. Kanami is no different and hopefully someday will be enshrined in that pantheon of great musical composers. As I'm sure has been mentioned this song was written with the intent of being performed live, in front of an audience.... preferably an arena sized audience. I was sooooo looking forward to seeing this performed at their 2020 Budokan show. I had a ticket for the show, had saved money for my first trip to Japan, was working with friends on shared lodging for a week.... and we all know how that turned out. So needless to say this song holds a special place for me... and other fans as well. Beautiful song that is so lush and full and Saiki's vocals so on point for this. Simply a gorgeous song both from a musicality perspective as well as Saiki's performance. Really wanted wanted to sing along to this with 10,000 of my fellow Band-Maid fans! Maybe 2022..... in Japan... at Budokan (or better). BTW - DUNE was visually stunning on IMAX. Go see it if your a fan of the novels!

This song is definitely one of their more "poppish" (if there's such a word) but they put their own stamp on it. Instead of the usual pop A-B-A-B-A-B-B-B etc formula you get A-B-A+-B++-A2+B2=C2.(For my math friends out there lol). I think a good sub-title for Band-Maid songs is "Variations on a Theme!" "Endless Story" is a great sample of the Conqueror Album. Ok, we got Blooming, Rinne, The Dragon Cries and Bubble... but it is a more "vocal centric" album. Many fans believe that of B-M's 4 LP's (Just Bring It, Domination, Conqueror and Unseen World), Conqueror is the "Weakest". Admittedly, for me, there are a few songs I gloss over, but for the most part, it's a great album. Different... (where have I heard that before..... oh yeah, It's Showtime).

Dear Ryan Mate! Greetings again on a rainy day with a typhoon approaching Japan! As you aptly said, Kanami seems to hate repeating herself. This is another reason why they experiment from time to time into softer but as complicated songs to touch more people. After all, we are not beating hearts to rock and roll all day long. This band is tightly knitted because they have not forgotten their past joys and pains and all for their seemingly soft (maid) image, they show both fierceness and deep love in their songs, notwithstanding the great music. People tend to forget that 4 of them are already 30 of age for all their youthful looks. Musically, they are nearing adulthood and their potential is only starting to emerge. We still have at least a good 10 more years of marveling barring unforeseen events. They are steadily building up a pedestal that will be hard for others to climb and stand upon. But for all their fame they stay modest, attentive and smiling. Mind you, being Japanese helps. Just look at the way they managed that horrible pandemic steadily, quietly and stoically. Expect Band Maid to really blast things from early next year giving you plenty of chances for you to comment on! Best regards, Robert-Gilles

This song is definitely not on the hard rock side (more pop), but it's one of my favorites. I love the "oh-ah-oh-oh", I love the extended pre-chorus and the extended bridge. The cord just trails off in the back to nowhere in particular.

I was indifferent, at best, towards Endless Story until I saw the "making of" video. While the rest of the band were just goofing around between takes, there was a shot of Kanami practicising her solo - that's right, practcising for a video shot which probably wouldn't feature more than a second or two of her fingers on the guitar. If she was so engaged with the song that she was determined the video would be perfect (or her parts at least) had I missed something? After a few more plays it turned out that indeed I had. Yes, it's "poppy" but also every second of it is a Band-Maid song - beautifully written chord progression, melody and words matched to inspired and flawless musicianship. Simple as that.

Had a look through your Band-Maid catalog ... (that's a lie, i've watched the whole lot about 3 or 4 times) ... and you don't seem to have done Wonderland. It's usually a first-five reaction (or thereabouts) as the first example of an alternative to their power stuff. Anyway, if I've missed it, let me know... it a favorite of mine (for how reactors react - Chase is tops at the moment with a "it's frustating how good they are" shimmy)

😂😂😂😂 Akane cried during this song at the Chicago show of the US tour. It was very moving. At the Tokyo Garden Theater, I hope this song will be played at the end of the show. Just like at Line Cube Shibuya. A big chorus of 8,000 people. Just imagining it makes me excited. It would be amazing (I hope we can speak out). I think Akane will cry again. No, not only Akane, but everyone might cry. Even that "maid who doesn't cry" Miku lol If I see it on a giant screen・・・Maybe I'll cry too.. No, I will definitely cry. I am confident that I will cry lol I want to cry and laugh with them.😂😂😂😂 Sorry for my bad English!

Thanks. During the US tour, people in America and around the world cheered them on. Next time, we Japanese will do our best to support them! !

I really like this song, and I'm glad they still rock out poppy stuff. But... my one issue with this is that Miku's vocals remind me of the millennial whoop that I heard far too often in the pop music my teenager daughters would play non-stop.

Just like Before Yesterday, such a crimminally under reacted to song. Not hard or fast enough for so many of their "fans".
