Cats are always the boss! If you want to explore the route of all female bands, Japan has a ton of amazing all female bands. Here is a few that comes in my mind right now. First of all I need to mention SHOW-YA ( this is the grandmother s of the all female metal bands in Japan, I think they have played for 40 years now ) and then the pop-punk band Shonen Knife ( they have played for 43 years now). But here is the list of modern bands to explore: LOVEBITES, Nemophila, HAGANE, Paradoxx, Stmlt, East of Eden, Lonesome_blue, HANABIE. If you want to go punk style. Otoboke Beaver, TsuShiMaMiRe, Junky58%. But then you have idol units, sort of BABYMETAL style. Broken By The Scream, PassCode, mercuro, ASP and more... Well now you have a start on that route if you want!

MIKU “Now Band-Maid’s outfits are part of rock n roll, so we pick these!” Interviewer: What’s the meaning of the name “BAND MAID”? Miku: I used to work at a maid cafe, and I thought “I want a band!” So it became BAND-MAID - maids in a band! Interviewer: How did BAND-MAID come together? Did any of you know each other before joining the band? Kanami: Miku was looking for members to be in BAND-MAID. I was approached to join the band, and then I brought my friend, the drummer Akane, with me. Then, Akane brought her friend, the bassist Misa. So the instrumental performers were all gathered through connections between musicians. After that, our vocalist Saiki joined through an audition. After they performed this at Lollapalooza, videos of it went viral, and everyone who went to their later shows was waiting for them to do it again. I was lucky enough to be standing just feet from MISA when they played this in Sacramento. Life changing moment, truly!

Well done Princess Athena. That was a quick pickup on all the members names. Like you called out the drums during MISA's conversation with Kanami. As it is so important to it. Also at 6:10 Miku comes back and fills in the gaps in sound. I wish they would have given her one cut to signal her coming back in. During the concert she was standing on the top platform with a spotlight on her. I think many people miss how much she fills out the sound. Great reaction and keep rocking with the Maids! These girls are so wonderful and just ooze talent. No member is above the other and are all equally talented. "Domination" and "Puzzle" Official LIVE are good ones to check out. Nice to see Bouni, I lost my 14yo female ginger in July and really miss her, they love attention for sure. Give Bouni a hug for me please.

Hi @AthenaDK ! Thanks for the video! Live performances are always a one-of-a-kind experience, thanks to the live sound and the element of improvisation. Especially when we're talking about such talented musicians like the girls from BAND-MAID. It was a fantastic live show. The atmosphere is also greatly enhanced by the fans, who, in Japan, are especially mad and intense. And I mean that in the best way possible, of course. No matter which performance you watch, the fans give their all, just as much as the musicians. There might not be a lot of all-female bands in the heavier music genres around the world, but that only adds to their significance, both culturally and historically. Often, these female musicians and vocalists stand out above many of their male counterparts, not just because of their talent, but also because of their incredible motivation… how should I put it? It’s not so much about proving anything, but more about showing that they are equal to or even better than many men :) And that definitely deserves respect and admiration. Plus, when you see a delicate girl playing such a powerful bass guitar, it just melts your heart :)

Great video! And cool insight about Akane's drums during the 'battle' solos - you're totally right. While Kanami and Misa are there doing their thing in the spotlight, Akane (and Miku to some extent too) have to hold the rhythm in the background to keep the song going! Enjoy your BM journey!

Personally, I don't think you have to apologize for how you reacted to Alone. You'd never heard Band-Maid before, and all reactors have compared the Maids to bands they have heard before (90s/00 pop punk, 80s rock, 70s stoner rock, speed metal, heavy metal, etc). Guns and Roses has often been mentioned (Kanami influenced by Slash, perhaps). I believe everyone who viewed your first reaction enjoyed your video. I know I did. And this is another great reaction. Also, Bouni rocks!!

Athena, thank you for your reaction to "Hate?" by Band-Maid. The band is a genre defying group because they will incorporate any chord structure or sound into their music as long as it works for each specific song. That diversity and the enjoyable surprises that come with it is what makes Band-Maid appealing to so many people. Their lastest released album "Epic Narratives" shows both their growth, their creativity, and again the diversity of their music and their songs. I hope Band- Maid gets the worldwide recognition they deserve Again a shoutout to Roger Chance and all the "Carrier Pigeons" for spreding the message about Band-Maid.

Japanese all female bands are changing that dynamic. The absolute crazy amount of talent with these ladies and their instruments. Not just "Band Maid", you have "Lovebites", "Nemophila", etc, etc, etc... All female hard Rock, heavy Metal bands out of Japan will soon be taking over the world if American/Canadian bands don't step it up big time. The all female Rock band "The Warning" from Mexico has blown up the rock scene as well.

Thanks for reaction! I love both Baby Metal and Band Maid and many others J bands, so fck those narrowminded ppl, who hate Baby Metal! Even though they don't play instruments, they still work hard and they r one of those pillars who made foreign auditory accept japanese heavy music widely!
