You guys, just go buy a 3.5mm spliter for $2.50 on Amazon. Seriously, you are missing whole left and right channel. Their music are very channel centric. You are really missing stuff. Kanami (lead g) is on right, Mikus (rhythm g) is on left, Misa (bass) will be slight to left, Saiki (v) will be center and Akane will be center but (her snare drum is slight to right, hi-hat and crash cymbal to right, bass drum center, mid tom to slight left and ride cymbal to left.) I kid you not. You can hear the parts location. The recording is amazing. Oh, and Misa (bass) is amazing but Kanami (g) is a genius. She composes almost all their music.

Another nice reaction guys. I was there in San Francisco last Nov. and they killed it. I'm an old time rocker, so that is high praise from me. And as to understanding the lyrics, I was a DJ for .. decades.. and cannot read a lick of music. Couldn't tell you what note or cord was played, but as long as it sounds great, I don't need to. Same for the vocals. The human voice is the greatest instrument there is. That is how I relate to non-English speaking bands I enjoy. And you will know what this means as you follow them... MISA! MISA! MISA! (the bassist) I would suggest Don't you tell ME (live) for some good bass/lead guitar ownage.

As you say, how good the musicianship is makes them successful internationally. How many half dressed girl bands come and go once the one or two hits have passed and people realise the talent is just not there. We have Miku, rhythm guitar to thank for Band Maid. Her playing has improved so much from the early days that in the three recent shows, she has had solos. I would recommend Just Bring It for the CD to review.

For $2.50 you can buy a headphone splitter on eBay. On this modern stereo recording, as with all Band-Maid songs, Kanami's guitar is thrown hard right and can barely be heard in the left ear, while the rhythm guitar is opposite. Are you mixing your headphones in mono so you can hear all of the instruments? Sorry, but this is just a pet peeve of mine.

@@hopsmetalshow3413 Hello from Russia! :-) It's great that you actually comment on the music as it plays! Of course, to wear only one headphone is the simplest solution to hear what the other one is saying, but we all want you to enjoy the music to the fullest :-) I would suggest that you just mix the microphone into your audio stream, as you listen to a song. In this way you could hear both channels, and hear each other very well. I don't know if you have any mixer board, though. But a simplest one, with Headphones Out and a single Mic In, would suffice. Then plug your two headphones into a splitter, as people suggested, and you are done. Ideally, the board should have two Headphone Outs, that would make it simpler. Thanks a lot for reacting to another great BAND-MAID song! I have completely fallen in love with them since the first listen. Two weeks ago they were in Europe, and played four concerts-in London, Paris, Bochum and Hamburg. I visited three (forget about Brexit guys :-). That was incredible! So much energy, such a guitar and drum prowess... Saiki's voice is just magical, and Miku's entertainment, even in broken English, is just mesmerizing.

Live tracks like Dont You Say , Domination , Puzzle will all blow you guys away , as well as PV of single Dice. btw i should tell Jimmy Page from Zeplin saw them live and was particularly impressed with Akane's drumming and had his pic taken with her. The reason the bass didn't stand out as much in their older stuff was Misa was playing a Fender J Bass, which she said really didn't suit her style. She had the black bass she's playing here made by a company called Black Cloud, it's a prototype called the "Black Smoker" with onboard preamps, so she's much more comfortable with it now and it projects much better through her setup, which is an Orange guitar head into an Ampeg bass cab.

Great reaction. So many people talk all the way through. Please make the next song DICE. I was amused when you said that she owned the bass when infact she is sponsored by the manufacturer. The girl on the rhythm guitar was the singer when the band was formed but it was decided they needed a stronger singer and that she (Miku) would learn the guitar. That's right she's only been playing since Saike the singer was brought into the band. Its great watching new people experience Band Maid especially iff they actually listen to the song. Well done, keep going with Band Maid.
@VladimirChupin
@VladimirChupin 5 жыл бұрын
I believe they all own their instruments, if we speak about legal side. Although the comment implied "own" in a different sense: "to play well, be really professional at." Nowadays, many musicians have custom instruments. Kanami's PRS guitars are all custom as well, and Miku's Zemaitis are also custom. If the manufacturers would give out their instruments for free, they would go bankrupt. Musicians buy the instruments, but sometimes a manufacturer may offer them discounts, if they become endorsers.

The song was from a live DVD the band produced - BAND-MAID - WORLD DOMINATION at Shinkiba STUDIO COAST. 15 songs, although they actually did 25 (iirc). It occasionally pops up on youtube. With all the song requests you should try reacting to 2 or 3 BandMaid songs instead of just one. They have some instrumental songs too - Onset and Without holding back (top 5 for me) The ladies just did France and London but the venues were small.

It seems like a nice idea to me. There is a live footage from Hamburg which is getting very popular on KZbin: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iKnQg5yNfb9miqs It's three songs, all of them great: 𝗧𝗔𝗞𝗘 𝗠𝗘 𝗛𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗘𝗥, 𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗘𝗗𝗢𝗠, and 𝗠𝗢𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗜𝗨𝗠. Beside, you get Akane's drum solo in Freedom, and Kanami's guitar solo in Moratorium. And that is just direct recording, no post-production was applied. You can be sure it's how they truly sound live. They burned the crowd alive at that show...

Nice review! Thanks for reacting to Band-Maid. But here’s the thing… when you go into a beautiful forest saturated with huge ferns and giant redwoods, or witness whispering clouds shrouding a golden setting sun in the tropics, you are moved, in part, by the vast array of colors and alluring shapes interspersed within the foreground and background. Sure, you can cover one eye with a black and white filter and still see. But what’s missing is the terabytes of richness contained within the depth of field… the expansiveness and awe one experiences when getting the full-color picture. In other words, you can see but you are not overtaken by the true vision the creator(s) worked hard to engineer. Same for 1-channel or mono earbuds… buds. Next time please try a couple of good headsets set to "Stun", IMHO ofc. :-)

It's a trade-off between quality and ability to talk to each other during the listen. There are, of course, ways to do it right, like mixing the mic signal into the headphones during the listen. But that requires some gear, which may simply be not available, if people are not professional musicians.

Good job reacting to BM and the language stops being and issue after awhile. I discovered them a couple of years ago through Babymetal. The mix on all their songs is really great, you can hear all the girls up front and clear. Their live YT videos are outstanding. One think I've noticed after listening to a lot of their stuff is that while all these ladies are so really good for me the drummer (Akane) is what sets this band apart from a lot of other rock bands - I'd put her on the same level with Ringo, in that she is the perfect drummer for their music, she is the foundation of this towering edifice of talent. From BM I also was introduced to a lot of other Japanese rock and metal. These are a couple of the all-girl groups that I've been listening to lately - all different, all really excellent: Aldious - DOMINATOR - kzbin.info/www/bejne/h2qpe3aGqKl5nM0 Lovebites - Shadowmaker - kzbin.info/www/bejne/oWTaqoiYm9Fpirs (in the middle there's an ad - music continues after) Gacharic Spin 2010 - Lock On - kzbin.info/www/bejne/iYm9eqCpj9qdhsU DOLL$BOXX (same band as Gacharic Spin with singer Fuki) - Take My Chance = kzbin.info/www/bejne/o6aVq2eLm56HncU
