I came across this band not to long ago. Since then, I'm officially hooked. These ladies have to be one of the best band I've listenend too. Their style is not too heavy and not too light. They give the perfect blend to sooth my rock and roll soul.

I'm in heaven! ... I've been in this Band-Maid trip for barely a few weeks and it's such a freaking addiction!! Akane Hirose is a Ian Paice (Deep Purple) fan... she could be called Akane "Stormbringer" Hirose. BTW, it would be interesting for you to react to Mark III Deep Purple's "Burn" (1974) with a very very young David Coverdale (22 years old) and Ian Paice on the drums... as a link to Band-Maid's drummer... also linking both Akane and your wish for more Japanese metal, try Maximum The Hormone (their drummer Nao Kawakita is also one of Akane's favs) and the crazy awesome "Yoshu Fukushu" - kzbin.info/www/bejne/jpaxZJysr9-qmKM ) ... you WILL love it!

Saiki refers to their costumes as battle dress. There is also a photo of the Maids before a service standing in a circle, hands clasped in the center. The Maid suits may have begun as a gimmick but they’ve become suits of armor.

You have fast become a band maid fan favorite. Your enthusiasm and honesty is so prevelant and makes our love for this band of ladies even more meaningful. We love when people are blown away by the "rock-ness" of this band and how "western" they sound. I thought they were getting a little "soft" awhile ago, then Saiki put me in my place with that "Sink or Swim... SHUT UP!" They are incredibly awesome. My all time favorite song is the first one I heard "Dice." Second is "Turn me On (live). Everything else falls in line behind. 🎀🎀🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🎀🎀

The list of Japanese rock/metal is quite a long one. Actually, all female rock/metal bands are currently trending there. I'll throw down links to a couple of my favorites of those. But Ningen Isu is also a must. While not female, they provide another surprising twist I'm sure you'll enjoy. Definitely check out Ningen Isu, Unlucky Morpheus, X-Japan and Maximum the Hormone. Lots of folks like Aldious, Bridear, Lovebites and Ironbunny as well. Japan is hopping with great music. EDIT: I should add Asterism as well. Super talented kids. kzbin.info/www/bejne/f5fbfpxmd91nrpI Since you said "Metal from Japan", I left off Scandal, Gacharic Spin and DOLL$BOXX, although I would vouch for those bands as well. Great Pop Rock.

@michaelthatsit26624 жыл бұрын
Agree with the others. Maximum the Hormone is good punk metal. They were very popular when I lived there a few years ago. My katakana is ok, but kanji is not. The printing says the band name and supema in katakana, which probably won't help, but look for the family albumy type kid picture over top of a live festival shot. That's the one. Also, Rottengrafty too...more like hard rock/ska/metal...HaReRuYa is a recent song I think...good, funny. Again in katakana, so the vdo with the all red picture and band in silhouette. The vdo starts with average salaryman in pachinko parlor. Fasten your seat belt if you go to that, and be advised, Japanese hard rock/metal likes to switch genres several times within a song. You have been warned. Have fun.

Great Band-Maid reaction again! I think they got you a bit hooked! LOL! Anyway, I cast my vote for Ningen Isu, either "Heartless Scat" or Namahage. both some really killer metal, sort of doomy. Three piece band, been around for some 30 years. They can bring it.
@fastskipper7774 жыл бұрын
I don't know about other bands but you will notice in all of their MV's the girls are wired up with guitar cords. (Except in "Real Existence" when they were inside the Temple alter area) Even in the "Endless Story" in the middle of the volcanic beach, they are hooked up with guitar cords (you can see the wire snaking to the back from their guitars but no Amps around). Just saying...

@@Detrucci Yeah, I think it really imparts authenticity to the visuals. Whenever I watch MV's wih bands with guitars and they don't have guitar cords, it does not give me a sense of realness. Some may don't care but I do.

Yeeee more Band Maid from Detrucci, love your reactions. I'm repeating myself by now, but Band Maid is just soooooo fkin good dude! Since you want to discover more Japanese rock/metal... Haha, I got the perfect songs for you. It shows the perfect contrast to see how talented Japan is. First off would be 'Ningen Isu - Heartless Scat' a band that's been around for DECADES and has been rising in popularity because of KZbin lately, you need to see these guys in their 50's absolutely ROCKING it. On the other hand you NEED TO check out 'Asterism - Rising Moon', the members are 16, 17 and 19 years old and you will see that the future of Japanese Rock/Metal is already guaranteed. The talent that's coming out of Japan is just straight up crazy. Then there's also 'The Oral Cigarettes - Hey Kids' and 'Hello Sleepwalkers「猿は木から何処へ落ちる」' which I discovered recently, they absolutely blew my mind aswell, they're really unique bands with a very distinct sound. I'd love for you to check these out, you will definitely see me around with these haha. But with all that, please don't forget about Band Maid, you haven't even touched the surface of their talent, theres SO much more to discover, theres waaaay over 50+ songs, you ain't seen nothing yet of the best stuff :) Wish you a nice week and can't wait for next reaction!

I am always looking forward to it. Another recommendation for Japanese bands is LOVEBITES. A female metal band that sings in English instead of Japanese. It features high-pitched vocals and highly skilled melodious twin guitars. With four years of debut, it is not as popular as BABYMETAL or BAND-MAID, but I think it will become popular around the world in the next few years. Listen to the representative song Shadowmaker. MV stops playing for about 90 seconds on the way, so we recommend live video. ⇨ kzbin.info/www/bejne/jnXSq2V-gdapg7s&feature=emb_err_watch_on_yt Two new songs have been released. When Destinies Align and Golden Destination, this MV can be heard without any problems, so please try it. I am translating from Japanese to English with a translator. I am sorry for the frustrating English text.

If you looking for some japanese bands, Rin Toshite Shigure is definetely recommended. It's indie rock, don't know how you feel about this genre. From their songs, "Abnormalize" is most popular ('cause it was in Psycho-pass), but "am3:45", "#5", "missing ling" is really good too.

Aldious and Scandal come to mind, but there are other's I like better. Not necessarily Girl Groups or even Metal, but other bands. Older bands that don't tour much anymore. Bleach, The Pillows. Gito Gito Hustler, Shonen Knife, Guitar Wolf, Tsushimamirei. And newer bands I can't even remember the names of. Shiina Ringo is awesome and she's Jazz. It just depends on what you're into. Not everyone likes Japan X or Stereo Pony. But here's a bunch, though it's by no means complete . . . kzbin.info/www/bejne/hGWrk4Foe9eMr7c
