what type glue did you use? How long did it you let it dry for? What sets of lego blocks did you purchase to do the 3x3 and the 4x4? and how did you place the glue on the pieces to keep the glue from leaking out onto other pieces of the cubes locking it up? Thanks for the help! I plan to buy the stuff in a week to make this cube. Also could you please give me a link to all the different ways to bandage a lego cube? I couldn’t find the person you spoke of in the video.

actually, it depends on the tiles, tiles that are quite thick are banned as you can see the other colours from the side but some may be allowed if they're thin.

I made 4 of the 3x3x3 lego cubes (all have different color themes), the QJ Mini 3x3 cube is the perfect size. I also made 1 4x4 using a Rubik's brand 4x4, it isn't as smooth as the 3x3's but it works well. I am not sure if there are any legos the proper size to make a 2x2.

I just ordered my Lego plates and the QJ mini, so within the week I'll be working on my own. One quick question: what grit did you use for the sandpaper and about how much do I need to round of the corners? Just a touch, or more? Thanks! And again, awesome video!

guys to make one you need a cube where each piece is 16mm. so if a 3x3 is 48mm across like the QJ it works, if its a 4x4 that is 64mm across then it should work. 5x5 you need it to be 80mm across etc.

On the Lego website, I got the 9 peices on each side plus an extra for each side just in case, and they cost exactly $9.00 total, plus tax and shipping, which if you live in the U.S. adds up to a little over $15, with 13-17 business day shipping. Hope that helped!

Do you think that the zhanchi 42 mm would be big enough for the 3x3 or would it be too small like the lanlan. Please respond so that I can know wether to use my much more favorited Dayan, or if QJ is the only one i could use.

I have questions... on average, how much does each cube cost? Like how much does an already assembled cube cost and where are some places I could get one? And... How much does it cost to make my own cube and where can I buy prices for it? Also how can I make my cube turn faster?

Use this fact to get an appropriate measurement: Each LEGO brick is exactly 8mm across, so each 2x2 LEGO plate is 16mm*16mm. This is why the QJ mini 3x3 that he used is perfect, since it measures exactly 48mm across (Three 2x2 LEGO plates). For a 6x6 you would need either a 96mm*96mm cube for the 2x2 LEGOs, or try to go with 1x1 single LEGO plates and require a 48mm*48mm 6x6x6 cube. An added note is that sometimes the cubes are measured in cm, which is of course 10x the mm count, so 48mm=4.8cm. I wish you the best in fixing one up!

Ethan D. Best to just buy the assembled and remove the stickers. The DIY are often more expensive due to labor costs associated with checking all the parts are there.
@ivnitroxb
@ivnitroxb 10 жыл бұрын
+James Coyle I suppose so, but I think the added few cents or a dollar or two is not a problem for most people. Also with a DIY, you can lube and tension it to your liking without having to take it apart. Like I said before, you also conserve stickers which you could use later.

However if you don't feel comfortable assembling it, just peel the stickers off.

Couldn't you have filed each of the pieces down at the edges so that they do not overlap the gap between cubies? (obviously after the fact it would be obnoxious, but possibly doable.)

you can just sand off the legos that stick out too much. since the spacing will still be perfect, you dont have to worry about being unable to bandage it!! :D

Any clues about super-gluing the Lego pieces onto the cube? It seems my gluings pop loose under moderate pressure. How do you secure your pieces so tightly that they can withstand prying the banded pieces off over and over? BTW - that is one glorious Lego cube!!! ~Jon
