This might honestly be the best 6" vinyl Godzilla figure since the old pink tag Final Wars Godzilla that was released back in 2005. He really feels like he came from the original early 2000s run of the MMS in terms of overall quality.

The slander for GvKG kinda hurt me a little since that movie is my absolute favorite and had a bias in which it had my favorite design but I'll respect your opinion, going to the figure, holy balls have I never dropped my jaw at the pure beauty since the last time I did was the MMS GMK Goji figure which at the time is my favorite Bandai vinyl figure, but right now I think this one takes the cake with some good old icing on it.

Great review. I don’t know if I would call Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah the “worst” Godzilla movie of all time though. That’s a little harsh. Especially in a world where Godzilla’s Revenge exists.

Awesome review Rob! Finally, bandai actually releases a new mold and it's none other than Godzilla 1991!!! Bandai finally stepped up their game as they actually got the entire tail painted!!! The detail is well done, it actually looks like the 1991 suit, the most amusing thing i noticed is they may reused the memorial box Godzilla 1984 tail as they are very similar, but need to check for confirmation. What a doubt, one of the best figures this year!!!

As for the actual figure, I wish the neck was a tiny bit longer. Im definitely going to repaint the eyes, since it just doesnt look like Godzilla 1991 if it has visible whites in its eyes. Aside from that, looks great. A shame a lot of people have just been disappointed with it, especially compared to the new Gamera announcements. I think this guy is way cooler than either of those figures and this suit hasnt gotten a new figure in way longer than them so I really dont get the hate. I also hope Bandai does new releases for all the Heisei suits, but its unlikely. It would be nice to get a new burning godzilla mold that is actually accurate and doesn't look more like the 93 than the 94. And I wouldnt mind a 92 reissue with finally fixed dorsal plates that arent stuck together.

I would personally love to see an 89 and a retooled Burning Godzilla from the MMS. Since the latest Burning Godzilla kinda... just.. aint it. Like the fellah below me, I'd like to see a nice BatGoji release as well! wouldn't mind Heisei Mothra and Battra over-all. Because they've (especially Battra) been sorely ignored. Though next year IS one of the film's Major Anniversaries. Maybe. Just Maybe. We'll see SOMETHING come out of that, in-between the Gigan hype.

Love this figure! Great review. I wish it looked more like the 4” version from the battle set. With the closed mouth That bottom jaw (due to limitations of undercuts in making vinyl molds) would’ve been better as a factory attached piece so that it’s not so thick at the base A bit less white toward the inside of the eyes would help make his eyes look too close together.

How the heck haven't I commented on here yet? Anyway, movie viewpoints aside since it's my favorite movie, this figure has become a staple considering it's also my favorite suit. I will admit there are some inaccuracies and a little paint slop on mine (have a second one coming in as I'm writing this, so that one might be better), but other than that, I absolutely love this release from MMS. It has great detail for a cheap figure, paint that is pretty good (QC aside), and just overall looks great! Couldn't ask for anything more. Something interesting to note, the body on this one and the Memorial Box 84 are relatively similar. Only big differences are the head, spines and chest. Everything else matches somewhat like the positioning of the arms, tail and structure of the legs. I find it neat personally that they used a very good body sculpt like 84 and implemented it onto 1991. Overall, this figure and your review solidify my liking of it. It's truly one of, if not the best modern MMS Godzilla figure we've gotten.

I had the X plus Godzilla 1991 Hokkaido version and the soft vinyl made the Godzilla spine slanted inward. I'm a sculptor and I like resin or solid figures and that X plus Godzilla soft vinyl line are good but there not worth 300$ or even 200$ unless it's resin hard materials that are heavy duty like a rock! Even my friend told me that that X plus Godzilla feels cheap quality! All of the X plus Godzilla are soft vinyl and they feel like a beach ball for summer and I'm pretty sure that beach ball isn't $200 or more pretty sure! So basically the X plus Godzilla 1991 is soft vinyl that's what makes the spine warp inwards so it's crappy quality but if the spines and the Godzilla was resin the material won't warp, it would be straight and define then it would fit the 200$ mark!

Personally I think Godzilla vs King Ghidorah is the 3rd worst, 2nd worst is Godzilla vs Monster Zero (the only redeeming factor is Nick Addams and Kumi Mizuna), and the worst is Godzilla vs Hedorah, and Godzilla vs Space Godzilla is 4th worst, 5th worst is Godzilla vs Megalon (although I do personally love Godzilla vs Megalon, objectively it is pretty bad).

Fun sci fi action and goofy characters is fun, regardless of the era. Godzilla vs King Ghidorah 1991 is far from the worst Godzilla movie ever made & definitely has some iconic battle scenes in the franchise imo. Also imo, Godzilla Final Was is the worst movie, though the lean, minimalist suit design in it, keeps growing on me the more I see it lol.
