TLDR In short, they are also his sons and they hate him as well

What he actually said was something more like “you think what you did could kill me?” Or “did you think I would die from that level/degree?” He never mentioned lava in his actual line, but the English translation they went with for this trailer did. It’s like they try to make the lines cooler but it just sounds worse than what they’re actually saying in Japanese and sometimes it’s downright incorrect. There’s so many lines in Tekken like that. Sad. It’s been a problem for 20 years that they have bad translations and it’s still present in multiple lines in this trailer lol
