I can’t thank you enough for that glaze medium recipe. That stuff is amazing and has made a huge difference in how my paint is performing.

Hi. Can you help me please? I am a noob and this is my first try on painting. In what part of the process do you use that glaze medium recipe? I have seen this video a lot of times, but i never know when is supoused to use. Thank you
@BandaInku4 жыл бұрын
Awesome! Welcome to the hobby! So I wouldn't worry too much about special 'mediums' in the beginning and would recommend focusing more on learning to thin your paints right and brush control. Then once you have a feel for how your paint feels normally with just water, then add in playing around with mediums. Otherwise it can get confusing real fast when to use what. And honestly you can do pretty much all the painting techniques using just water as thinner. That being said, the mediums/special mixes of mediums can be very helpful at times. Especially when making glazes or when blending to help thin the paint even further without losing the normal paint properties and extend drying time. I can't remember exactly in this video where I used that medium, but a lot of times when 'glazing' or doing blending I'll add in some 'glaze medium's (which I actually like to call 'blending medium' since I use it more when doing blending methods like two brush blending than anything else) if you haven't already, check out this video I made about different blending methods using those mediums for a deeper explanation and examples. I think it'll help clarify some stuff for ya 😎 kzbin.info/www/bejne/aYC2dmOZqKqhZ9U If you have more questions just let me know!

Excellent paint job and great commentary. Am looking to start Blood Rage (currently completing Black Plague) and although nowhere near a good painter, let alone as good as you, your videos are SO helpful. In particular they help me with delineating the different areas/layers as sometimes these can be confusing when compared to the artwork. Really appreciate you taking time to paint, edit and post videos! THANK YOU.
@BandaInku6 жыл бұрын
Thanks man! Blood Rage has been an absolute blast to paint. It's got so many amazingly detailed models. Would love to see your Black Plague stuff! I still haven't gotten mine painted but I definitely want to as it's one of my most played board games. Gotta love all that dice chucking and annihilating up Zombies! Layering can definitely be a challenge - particularly in the beginning when you're just starting to learn how different paints and colors interact with each other - so I'm glad to hear the videos have been helping you out with that! I'm still learning myself and trying to continually improve - sharing whatever knowledge I gain on the way!

I’m about to finish painting my first clan following your tutorial and the effect is awesome. Well above that, what I could’ve accomplished only with my lack of artistic skills :) you are amazing. But I have feeling that I missed something or I dont believe that it’s true... are teeth on hammers painted only with gray primer and agrex shade?
@BandaInku3 жыл бұрын
Yup! Just Agrax over the grey primer, then I believe after I applied some light grey highlights to them.

Sorry for the weird question, but how long do you take painting one miniature of these? I am taking ages on each. Sometimes two full days of work. The only miniature I painted fast was the sea serpent, complete in four hours.
@BandaInku5 жыл бұрын
These bigger guys usually take around 12 to 20 hours depending. And smaller ones are somewhere around 4 to 8 hours usually.

Uhg. I have army painter paints and they just don’t cover like that Vallejo you are using. I would love to have coverage after one coat :(
@BandaInku5 жыл бұрын
Which color you talking about specifically? Most colors take more than one coat to get good coverage. Especially skin tones and lighter colors :D Even on these guys, they got multiple coats most of the time.
@Shrinekeeper15 жыл бұрын
@@BandaInku Ah ok, just watching you paint on the video it appears everything just got one coat and was good to go. I guess that was my misinterpretation of the video and the other coats were edited out for time.

Great job thanks! Now I am painting my BR minis because of your videos! But how did you paint the ships and also with those symbols on them ?
@BandaInku6 жыл бұрын
Dude - Love that they've helped get ya started painting BR! Such a great game. The ships we're pretty simple. Mostly just did them in the basecoat -> wash -> drybrush style with some select highlights done with a fine detail brush. There's a PDF painting guide for all 4 of them over on Patreon or if you just want a reference photo there's a good pic of them on the BandaInku Facebook page :)

Thank you so much for this impressive tutorial, I going trying to start painting my blood rage. I only have one question, how much milliliter are 75 drops? It's for the Smokey ink wash..... If I use the Vallejo bottle I can't count the drops or they are everyone different to the others. TIA!
@BandaInku5 жыл бұрын
Are you asking how many milliliters 75 drops would equate to? Or how many milliliters of wash base to add the 75 drops to? My mix is 75 drops of Smokey Ink added to 15ml of Wash Base.
@navarrojospla5 жыл бұрын
@@BandaInku no, i mean your first question: how many milliliters 75 drops would equate to?

Banda Inku I’ve painted the frost giant, troll and sea serpent. Was trying to find some tutorials on the rest. So far I think you are the only one that is going to feature the whole box.
@BandaInku6 жыл бұрын
Jeff Haubrich Sweet. Those big models are so much fun to paint. I'm just finishing up painting the troll. Yeah, I've noticed lots of channels only feature some of the models from the games they're painting. And it tends to be just the big ones. That's partly why I decided to have a big focus of my channel be on showing complete box sets. I figure if someone is gonna paint one model they'll highly likely want to paint the rest of the models and nobody wants to have to look all over the place to find tutorials for all of them. Particularly since for most of these models nobody even created a tutorial. Which is good for me I guess haha I'm trying to get the videos out as fast as I can. Each tutorial just takes a ton of time to produce and I only get to work on them in the evenings when I find a bit of free time. Are you finding them helpful? And is there anything you'd like to see or hear in the videos that would make them more helpful?
@jeffhaubrich61216 жыл бұрын
Banda Inku for my own painting they are helpful, some videos are very in-depth and quite long, I don’t mind shorter videos as I don’t require a step by step for every detail. What I was looking for with blood rage was more of a colour selection, what shades to use, etc. Because they are shorter they are easier to navigate to a particular part of the process. Your narration helps as well. Like you I only have a little bit of time to paint in the evenings and weekends, so it’s a slow process for me. Very much appreciate your content. I use mainly citadel paints so I have to convert a few things, but not a problem for me. Are you planning on doing more box videos by cmon?
@BandaInku6 жыл бұрын
I am trying to keep each video as short as possible cuz I'm right there with ya - there are just too many painting tutorials that are forever long and it makes it quite hard to find the info you want. I'm in the process of determining the next box set I'll be doing. I've got a poll going on over on Patreon to get input from everyone on what games they'd like to see - www.patreon.com/posts/15424669 Only a few people have participated so far. About half the games on there are from CMON as they have produced many games that I greatly enjoy. At the moment, I'm leaning towards either Massive Darkness or Zombicide Black Plague as I've wanted to get both painted and they are both popular ones with many beautiful models.
