Hi. Thanks for the review. However, no "cons" explained. Only good things. DPReview mentions bad image quality in low-light and dynamic range. I am more of still photo rather than video. Thinking about this one of the 7d mark ii. Any suggestion? Thinking only in still-photo, against the 7d mark ii? Thanks again.
@BandH9 жыл бұрын
+Leo Lagos I've personally not come across any cons on the Rebel T6i or T6s. I'm not certain what part of DPreview you may have come across (there are a lot of comments about there), but their official review of it commented that they both perform well in low light. What DPreview did comment was that they are less optimal with active/moving subject matter and tracking by comparison to other models. The 7D Mk II is clearly a better camera overall. With the Dual Digic 6 image processors, autofocus performance will be much better than any of the other cameras on tiers below it. It also excels in low light. If the budget permits, I would go with the 7D MK II myself, however I wouldn’t be shaken to have to use a Rebel T6i/T6s for general photo work. - Yossi

+B and H this technote from Canon: www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer?pageKeyCode=prdAdvDetail&docId=0901e02480f0bcb2 talks about a sensor problem, but it seems it was on the early one released. Thanks again for your review. Finally, I went for the T6s, as I'm not that into movies (yet). For still photo, it's more than ok for the price. Also, I like the touchscreen :) And finally, I think 7D mark II has not clear future as there is a lot of fuss about 5D or whatever is coming next... better to wait...

So, some of you are saying that these are not 'the best' cameras at this price point? That Sony and Nikon are in the mix? I have used a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ5 for the last 15 years. I like it. However, I am disabled now and I would like to upgrade to a camera that I might use to supplement my income. Can you please tell me which of these three brands/MODEL you like best at this price point and why? Thank you.

B and H I'm a beginner and I'm confused between Nikon d5500 & canon 750d. Which one would you prefer for me?
@BandH8 жыл бұрын
They are both fairly comparable, The D5500 will have slightly better low light performance, however the T6i would excel in terms of AF during video. The better option for you would really depend on your intended usage. *Andrea

Mescherul All three models are great entry level models to choose from. The Rebel T5i is of my favorites personally. It has great image quality and is easy to work with and learn with. It does well low light as well as with active subjects. - Yossi

I was leaning towards the T6s. I think that LCD on TOP of the camera is pretty cool. Is that feature worth the extra money or am I 'falling in love with a 6 eyed lady who is in mad need of a shave'. Grin.

It's 2015 and other companies are making cameras with 1080 at 120fps and even 240fps (rx10ii) and canon can't even give us 60fps. That's why I switched to the gh4.

Excellent comparison and review of both Canon T6i and T6s cameras. Thank you Larry sir. Does the T6s have a kelvin setting in its WB setting?
@BandH9 жыл бұрын
Ameet Pawar According to the instruction manual, In the White Balance function on the camera, when you use the auto settings for "daylight, overcast daylight, incandescent and fluorescent lighting", that it will display the Kelvin value for each, however there is not an option to manually select other specific Kelvin temperatures. It does offer the ability to take custom white balance settings, however the Kelvin scale will not be noted. - Yossi
@ameetpawar43919 жыл бұрын
B and H Thank You B and H for the reply. But with long trend of Canon DSLR camera's, one thing, I have noted over years is that the camera with a monochrome LCD on top side will always have Kelvin option in WB to choose different individual temperature's. Does the Canon Rebel T6s is a exception?. Thank you !
@BandH9 жыл бұрын
Ameet Pawar You're welcome. The LCD screen on top of the Rebel T6s camera does not display any white balance information. The viewfinder/LCD screen will indicate what White Balance setting has been selected but the top LCD does not. - Yossi

Which one is going to be better for capturing sports pictures?
@BandH8 жыл бұрын
+Kiersten 1812 The performance between the T6i and T6s will be practically identical, while the 5 frames per second, and 19 cross type AF points could be used for sports, this is really more of an all around use type camera. If sports is your focus you should instead consider the 7D Mark II. Dual DIGIC 6 Image Processors, 65-Point All Cross-Type Phase-Detect AF, and 10 Frame Per Second shooting make this a far better choice for action/sports. bhpho.to/1m8aICT *Andrea

Can we connect external microphone in this? Can we monitor audio while recording in this? Can we connect with external power/with continuous power to draw power directly from an AC power source. to supply uninterrupted power for your camera. ? Can we record video with full length of memory?
@BandH8 жыл бұрын
You are able to connect an external microphone however you would need an external recording device like the Tascam DR-60DmkII 4-Channel Portable Recorder for DSLR in order to monitor audio in any manner. There is no way to monitor audio without the external recorder. You could use the Canon ACK-E18 AC Adapter Kit in order to provide continuous power to the camera. bhpho.to/2czMvqf bhpho.to/2czLRck *Andrea

im confused as well between the nikon b500 an cannon t6i,which one take really clear pictures..im new too this as well lol
The NIkon B500 is a point and shoot camera built for convenience and great snapshots. It is very easy to use, compact with a built-in zoom lens which is not interchangeable. It is a great camera for the beginner, family and traveler. With the Canon EOS Rebel T6i you get a ton of professional camera features like lens interchangeability, large,r more advanced sensor and processing, external microphone jack, advanced metering, exposure and focusing to name just a few. >Mark

Will this be good for HDR photography?
@BandH9 жыл бұрын
Sour dudd Yes, however neither model specifically has a built-in HDR mode to take and process multiple images together in-camera, but you could use either model to manually capture your images and then use any of the software with HDR processing to blend the images together. - Yossi

what canon cameras other than the g7x can record 1080p 60fps?
@BandH9 жыл бұрын
+Jose Quevedo In terms of DSLRs, the Canon 7D II can shoot full 1080 HD video at 60fps. For their higher end point and shoots, the following would also have that frame rate option for 1080 HD Vide: G3X, G5X, G9X, SX60, G16, S120. *Christina* Askphoto@bhphoto.com bhpho.to/1MsHTb3

@BandH5 жыл бұрын
Larry Becker begins talking about the differences between the canon EOS T6i and T6s shortly after the time you mention (after a brief intro), beginning mentioning the differences at 9:06 - 11:20. As stated in the video, the T6s has a back-lit LCD panel on the top of the camera near the shutter button. Due to this screen's position, the mode dial has been moved to the left-hand side of the camera, and it now has a lock button to prevent the dial from being bumped. The T6i does not have a lock button on the Mode dial. The T6i has Cross-style UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT buttons on the back of the camera for menu navigation and control, while the T6s has a Quick Control Dial that adds the ability to rotate the dial to change settings in addition to pressing the dial up/down/left/right, and a lock switch to lock the control from movement. The T6s allows you to view the quick settings, the Quick Control screen, an electronic level, or turn the screen off. The T6i only has the quick settings and Quick control screen. The T6s also has a proximity sensor near the eyepiece, so when you bring the camera to your eye, the LCD screen on the back of the camera turns off. The T6i does not have a proximity sensor, but pressing the shutter button will turn off the LCD screen. Those are the main differences; all other settings are nearly identical.
