Another brilliant film Murray thanks 🙏. I used to use a single side guy line like you on my Scarp 1 until the pole snapped at the point it was attached - during the night whilst doing the Skye Trail - getting packed up and out of a flat tent in the wind & rain was not 🤣. However, the point is that I know have the guys tied to 2 places on the pole. The lovely Henry Shires replaced the pole ❤

ah no - that sounds like a nightmare - TB the version I have is from around 2017 and only has the one spot (I think) to attach the side guide lines. It is to my eternal regret that I've still not climbed that wonderful mountain, let alone camped on it, the curse of the Munro bagger strikes again! But maybe I'm still not too old to do it one day. On my first honeymoon back in August '81 I promised myself never ever to camp in Scotland during midge season again. I can't say that I stuck completely to that, but I have done mainly, and you just reminded me why :) I agree about tying up guy lines, but my son leaves them all to get tangled, it drives me mad!

Another good one Murray. The views have pushed this one up the list for a camp. The Buachaille is like a magnet for outdoor folk. BTW, you were clearly perturbed by the dreaded midge. What (in your opinion) is the best way of ‘sorting the wee blighters out’ inside a tent. There’s not much online and my light come zapper is only mildly effective. I’d like to know from someone who has been regularly annoyed by these buggers? Thanks and keep up the great content.

Thanks Colin, I tend to just zip up the inner so none get inside and usually (not always) pray for a wee breeze (one of the reasons I very rarely camp low down as they can be worse in the Glens as less wind on average . Is it just me, but do any other English speakers feel like we lack the vocabulary to describe the feeling of being a part of a landscape such as this? "Amazing", "beautiful", etc don't seem to cut it. It's like we need extra words to describe our soul and the mountainous environment being as one.

@@ScotlandsMountains I found it. You can turn right ca. 400m before the house near A82. I walked WHW so the surroundings are familiar to me. Thanks. Pity the weather wasn't good enough :) but you are used to it.

Thank you ever so much for sharing this adventure, Murray! I couldn‘t believe there were so many midges in November - is that usual or is it the impact of climate changes? Anyway, it was horrible to see that swarming in your face… brave man!
