Nah those 6.5 inch subs used to be on parts express for like $50. Sad they're out of stock now.

Hey, I have a MK2 that over time lowers the volume. I've read that this could be a overheating protection, however the speaker is not any warmer than normal. I've read the service manual for the 3rd gen, and that specifies a NTC module which I assume is resposible for measuring the temperature, and regulating the power output. Are this also present in the first generation?

That's a very common problem with the MK1 and MK2 version for Beoplay A9. You can try to clean out the amplifier and see if that helps.

@@KoseTrading Okay, I've read that a new mainboard might be needed, but reading the service manual, I see several NTC's, one on each driver, and again some on the mainboard connected to the MCU. Do you have any experience fixing boards?

My daughter have a A9 MKII and it has frequent "crack" sound sometimes during play, and more often when the unit has been used and "cooling down". Do you have any advice? I read somewhere one solution is to lightly unscrew the screws on front to release tension. Any advise?

Thank you for your comment. Yes, I also heard about the "crack" sound coming from the chassis. Lightly unscrews can help, what I had experienced in disassembly process for Beoplay A9 that the screws a very tight. It can maybe help with the problem.

Great video! I have an a9 that developed a burning smell, it’s 12 years old. Any ideas what that could be? There are no error lights and it still plays, but I left it unplugged in a room corner for 12 months
