The Delhi metro airport line was designed to connect Rajiv Chowk with terminal 3. At that time, T3 was for international flights only, which usually arrived and departed in the early hours of the morning. Since the feeder metro lines usually shut down between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m., there weren’t many takers and the line went into financial losses and legal disputes with the contractor. I hope BMRCL doesn’t make the same mistakes with the Blue Line…

Whoever is traveing by bus, do check the progress, most metro sites have hardly one or two or max three people working. In this phase it will take another 5 to 10 years.

Disappointed to note that there are no stations between Bagalur Cross and Dodjala on the airport line. Though this may speed up the metro, it would be highly inconvenient for the general public in many areas in between them, including thickly populated Hunesmaranahalli, Vidyanagar Cross and Chikjala. This may prompt these residents to use their own vehicles thus causing traffic jams. This may defeat the purpose of metro to reduce traffic jams within the city at the cost of rapid transport to the airport.

The amount of revenue Karnataka govt earns is one of the highest due to IT sectors. But due to corruption they have the money in their own pocket which they will never give.. so forget about the stations.. and people even if there is metro people will take their car out to just show off.. which will cause traffic jam either way..

Almost all the estimates are laughable. A 2026 opening for the blue line looks way off now. I wonder what generally is the thumb rule for these estimates. If the estimates are always, why even give out those estimates ?!

18:46 Platform screen doors were invented in 1908. Singapore metro implemented it on large scale in 1987. There was plenty of time for BMRCL to think over it and install them BEFORE opening it for public.

I request Dr.Manjunath who is MP from Bangalore Rural should use his good office and press for extension of metro line from kalena agrahara to Jigani industrial via Bannerghatta park area which falls under Bangalore rural constituency.

Very informative Video. BMRCL can partner with private operators to run the Metro feeder buses so that last mile connectivity improves . It can also give commission based revenue for the BMRCL.

I think seeing the delay of yellow & extended green lines, orange grey lines may take upto more than 10yrs & red line to 15yrs!😢

Absolutely, Red wont be ready before 2038-40 timeframe. Even Orange will take till 2035-38, given how they took 7 years to build just 3 km! By that time, Delhi would be 700km, Mumbai 500km and Hyderabad & Chennai 400km each. We'd struggle to cross even 250km though started earlier than most others in 2006. BMRCL has 100% miss rate (every line construction, rolling stock, etc is delayed). Now more problems as they want double decker for Orange & Red lines. Nightmare for drivers for another 15 years in this forever under construction city. Suburban is even worser- less said the better ! Bunch of corrupt, uninterested, inept people are in power. We lost it right there itself.

For blue line is it possible that phase 2A opens before So i live near bellandur and since 1yr the progress of phase 2A(silk board-kr puram) is very good in comparison with 2B (kr puram-airport) As these are managed by two diff construction firms SNC and NCC

Bro KR Puram to Airport Phase 2B will not open before 2028 December. The Blue line atleast I can understand if it is delayed as it is an extremely long line but the yellow and pink lines being delayed is just sheer tragedy🥺🥺 Edit: 2028 is me being highly optimistic,they haven't even fin alised stations and not one station is atleast half complete unlike KR Puram Silkboard route. I don't know when will Bengalurians get good public transport or is it these incompetent people delaying due to bureaucracy or what is the reason why every single metro line is getting delayed.

not rlly - i am a frequent traveller on the blue line route , the krpura silkboard is amazing progress , its happening pretty fast and should be done by 2026 whereas the krpura to airport is also happening at a decent pace around 50% of u grinders are already placed and work on most stations has startd its just not as fast as phase 2a but i think should be ready by 2027 ending

The political differences between the Congress (in the state) and the BJP (at the centre) have a very significant impact on the progress of such massive projects. Keep that in mind. If Karnataka had a BJP government, by now many lines would be nearing completion.

Can't understand why track laying and other activities on UG section should require almost 2 years. It should happen by end 2024 / Mar 25 latest and operations commence on entire line by June 25. The present timelines are super inefficient and the contractors, BMRCL and GoK really need to buck up. They need to have some sense of urgency and not work in their own bubble of inefficiency and absence of accountability.
