Shady use Skull Lair and Soul Absorbtion! Skull Lair lets you destroy monsters whose level is equal to the number of monsters you banish from your graveyard, and Soul Lair lets you gain 500 life points every time a monster is banished!

While both can work, I think they're both a bad idea for this deck. Shady wants to go on the offensive, having cards that don't contribute towards the offense just slows him down. Skull Lair is meh though, he'd have to remove Bazoo and possibly add in cards that send from banish to graveyard.

For this deck being 20 cards and almost half being Traps/Spell id say no to Skull liar. But i Run a controllish deck with 30 cards and use skull liar works wonders

You should consider Thunder Dragon because of Bandit Keith makes them so good. You can use following sequence: 1. Have Bazoo and Thunder Dragon in hand. 2. Discard Thunder Dragon to get the other 2. 3. Switcheroo one of them. Then discard the the one you have to get that one from the deck. 4. Summon Bazoo and banish the 2 Thunder Dragons in your graveyard. In the end you will have a Thunder Dragon and an arbitrary card in your hand, also a Bazoo with 2200 ATK in your field. If you run Polymerization, you can go even further and get one of those banished Thunder Dragons from your banished zone with Dimensional Alchemist, to fuse them with the one left in your hand.

I wouldn't say that Rex decks are even meta anymore, the only real good thing about them is that they're easy to make. Banish decks are good, it's just important to keep the deck focused around one goal, meaning not to bother about banishing spell/traps at all and only focus on benefiting from banished monsters which'll increase consistency quite a bit. Regarding weird unusual decks, I recently made something quite interesting that should make it's way to KoG soon. It doesn't use a single level 4 or lower monster and is pretty hard to use efficiently compared to most other decks, but it's pretty fun with a lot of combo potential! It uses the Bluff Trap skill from Odion~ 3 Mefist the Infernal General 1 Airknight Parshath 3 Storm 3 Enemy Controller 1 Soul Exchange 1 Supremacy Berry 3 Embodiment of Apophis 3 Jar of Greed 2 Wild Tornado

I run a banish deck, and my deck consist of skull lair, 3x magical merchants, and some needle fish and a bunch of high level dark monsters. I use the skill restart to increase my chance of having magical merchant in hand, use magical merchant to mill a bunch of cards, use skull lair to banish them, and use escape from dark dimension to get them back.

Sure, the deck consists of 3x needle sunfish (this gets its -500 ATK effect even if it gets milled by magical merchant) 3x magical merchant 6x whatever high cost dark monster you want (I put 3x fiend megacyber and 3x horned white dragon) 2x escape from dark dimension 2x skull lair (2 because if one gets destroyed you can still have a back up one) 1x soul exchange (to tribute summon high level cards you have in hand) 1x e-con 1x wind storm 1x de-spell

Seems like in this deck you should always activate d.alc to fuel your distortion/escape. Also in game 1 (3:00), you would have threatened lethal and forced the potential apples on the rider if you had. Thanks for the vids, shady.

Love Rising Energy. It's a standard "Oh Shit" button in all of my decks. It replaced my Cry Havoc for clutch moments. Some say trading out the extra summon isn't worth it but when you have a 1600-1900 monster shipping your critters off to hell with their arms up their asses then suddenly springing a 3100-3600 creature on someone really levels the field. Not to mention damage clears for tight duels. Some times you have to drop the hammer fast.

you can use a graveyard deck. Combo magical merchants with skull lair and keep your magic cards to a minimum. Then there is a high chance your magical merchant will give you a lot of monsters in the graveyard, while it gives you skull lair to your hand. Now you can pop multiple of your opponent's monsters. twister is a weakness though.

A good card to use with the Dimensional Alchemist is The Fountain in the Sky because when Dimensional Alchemist is destroyed you can use Fountain in the Sky to remove it from play & add it's attack points to your life points. When you do that you can then use Dimensional Alchemist effect to return it(or any other card that's been removed from play) to your hand.

I'd honestly remove the summon skull and replace it with desert twister. Being able to banish three cards from you're grave just by summoning him, but also the bonus of being able to destroy a spell or trap is amazing. If you are willing to summon barrel dragon, maybe replace him for The Atmosphere where he requires the same amount of tributes, plus one monster in your graveyard and he is basically relinquish but with a bonus of 1000 attack always. Also possibly get rid of Escape from the Dark Dimension cause it once its in the grave its impossible to get it out except with pot of benevolence and instead maybe put another chaos greed cause draw power is so amazing. Other than that awesome deck Shady! Keep it up.

Fairy Deck with Ishizu's Fairy's Smile!! With the monster card vylon charger, which powers up other light monsters and freya which powers up other fairies you control and a bunch of equips. It's actually kind of strong. Throw in solemn wishes and the fountain in the sky for extra hp regen, and maybe a cyber stein to make use of the life points if you get too high, though that's not the crutch of the deck. Would love to see this on the channel!

Two deck ideas, one is an earth/wind gemini deck making use of Desert Twister and Gemini Scorpion as a tempo swing, with some protection cards to allow you to get your gemini effects off, and maybe some equips to make up for the lackluster statlines; the other is similar to a couple of suggestions, a deck that takes advantage of Aroma Strategy to combo with Dimensional Alchemist and/or Wrecker Panda, milling your own deck and then grabbing things from the graveyard/ removed zone.

Shady, you should try to build a burn deck around "Eye of Truth" and "Bad Reaction on Simochi" it's not the best as it locks up two of your back row but getting the combo off is super fun especially if you have a way to lock down their card zones like "The unhappy girl" or "Mask of the accursed"

one thing i noticed really hurts synergy decks is that their attack tend to be low. What i like to do is run 2-3 wonder balloons. Might even help this deck out.

Try switching your Barrel Dragon and Summoned Skull to Desert Twisters. Since Bazoo and the two Riders are Earth and Wind monster, Desert Twister should help you to remove them from your graveyard. It gives you back row control for this deck as well.

Actually, I think this deck has real potential! I just think you need to augment it with more reliable staple cards, like E-Con and Sphere Kuriboh. Also, like many have said, Mai's Aroma Strategy would go perfect with D-Alc. I really wanna see this deck again, it's super cool!

a few deck ideas; Ultra rare only- where obviously your deck must only consist of ultra rare cards. No hand deck- with flash assailants swift gaia, maybe balloons etc. Spellcaster Imitation- with grasschoppers or other 5 starred insects, insect imitation and blue dragon summoners or legion the fiend jester. works decent with otc and the 1700 beaters(including neo the magic swordsman)

You should try using Weevil's ability that reduces your opponents monsters attack by 800 when you have 3 insects. Using multiplication of ants and spider egg it's not too hard to get 3 insects on the field.

I think that the wind monsters and earth monsters makes cool synergies with element doom, you either cancel an effect or attack twice, plus if you hit hane hane it cancels the effect because is an earth monster plus adding Mephist it could get neater

I sent you my decklist on twitter ages ago. You use aroma strategy on mai.The riders are awkward, same with the spells that rely on no grave, drop them switch to chaos zone, which is much easier to activate (bazoo 3 monsters hit one with d alch and you can now SS a 4 star from either banish zone and it's reusable)You also want mimics and vermin to defend with and feed bazoo. The mimics are good targets from escape from DD ( you can hit a level 1 on opponents end phase and lvl it up easily. There are other synergies, but this is getting long. Try it out lol XD

Sphere Kuriboh for protection and food for Bazoo might work. Either that or another Windstorm. The Barrel Dragon combo would be nice but its too situational. I think Chaos Greed requires too much for activation. By the point you set up everything needed to get those 2 draws, Shard of Greed probably would've done the same.

I have a difficult time believe that building around dimensional portal would ever work. In the ideal case, you have to sac one monster and then get one of the monster banishing cards and dimensional portal in hand. In none-best case scenarios, you're almost guaranteed to have at least a spell and/or a trap in your graveyard, which requires another normal summon turn and the card to do so.

Hey shady if you use halfshut and mirror wall then it actually 1/8th the enemies attack so 2000 attack becomes 250 attack

You could try running zero spells (with only traps and monsters) or zero traps (with only spells and monsters). If you do that then the rider you happen to draw is guaranteed to be the correct one.

Replace the Return trap with another normal trap that boosts ATK (or even Curse of Aging, since it lets you stock your graveyard for Bazoo. You run both Wind and Earth so maybe Desert Twister? Of course cut one of the Dimension Distortion. Maybe run Wild Tornado? It's a normal trap and get rids of face up S/T cards (not Field though...). Maybe drop Chaos Greed as it's not really easy to make work? Get your Sphere Kuriboh in there.

eh i think the main issue is you haven't got enough cards to benefit from the banished resources also i think three bazoo and three d alc are overkill for this build also barrel dragon and summoned skull are kinda meh ok if you;r lucky you can ss them, rising energy just isn't very good tbh you could get a similar effect by running riryoku. Heck if you really want to go the bazoo route you could use the balloons to feed him along with kuriboh. Also the distinct lack of much defence makes it hard to recover when you're behind.

Shady, try running a spirit ryu deck (1000/1000 dragon) with the excelcion dragon (1500/1500 i think). you can discard the excelsion to power ryu then summon the 3rd excelsion and use its effects. Thats the main core of it i honestly don't know what else to do, i haven't really thought into it more than that.
