Another good tip: if you have the same person coming in month to month to get what we call a cashiers check (some institutions may refer to it as something else) that is something you should pickup on. They are using it to pay rent and this is the perfect opportunity to suggest they meet with someone to speak about a mortgage. Also look at what else they may be getting these cashiers checks for, example if they are getting multiple checks to different institutions they are probably paying off loans or credit cards. This is another chance to suggest a debt consolidation loan and have all of those loans with your institution. I worked the teller line for 4 years before moving into my current office as a loan officer. The longer you do it the more aware you become of peoples needs.

@MelissaFreeman

Nancy castanon neither, you can look online to see if the position is still available. They will usually take it down within a week of choosing their new employee. NEVER go into the branch to see if you got the job. That is unprofessional and rude because you’re wasting time that the manager was not expecting to see someone that doesn’t pertain to helping an actual customer.

Mia Deckler hi Mia! Thank you for stopping by I saw your comment on my other video as well! If you do not pass the assessment test that you initially take you will not be considered for the position. The questions asked are all relevant to the position you’re applying for so if you cannot answer those correctly you would most likely not be able to do the job. I hope that interview goes well!! That will definitely go against you if you put that on your resume or if a new potential employer finds out that you were only there for 3 months that will hurt your chances of getting a job that you actually want in the future. Can you grab a quick gig as a waiter? That’s quick cash and good for a short job.

No I’m surrounded by fast food places the nearest diner is almost 20 min away with no traffic. I did let the bank know though that I had plans of going back to college in the spring semester full time because they asked me if I planned to go back soon. It’s only a part time job

Hi Melissa, I'm a guy. And I notice that on my local bank branch, that all the tellers are female. I went to other banks and most tellers are females and maybe only one guy working.. I'm actually interested in this teller job, so i'm doing research.. Because i'm a guy, does it mean that I'm gonna have a hard time getting hard? As it seems like Teller is a girls job.

Nope! Most definitely not! Men are a great asset to the teller line 😊 just not a whole lot applying because of all the women I guess!

Jeffrey JeffreyFLF men tend to do very well as tellers and them move up quickly. Some of the women are older and just enjoy being right where they are and the bank likes when someone with the motivation to ladder climb come in

Is there anything else I need be prepared for ? My interview is this Sat coming up since I live in another city and I’m doing a lot of research. I just learn from your other video because I had that mind set where you’ll just be counting money. Now I know it’s about sales too!
