I am terrible about checking KZbin comments. Contact me directly with the above link.
I've owned a few different cold air intakes. Most are very gimmicky and do more to hurt performance than help it. Especially when they just throw an air cleaner open to the hot engine compartment. That's completely laughable.
I got addicted to watching Banks videos on KZbin and couldn't help but notice the quality of their Cold Air Intake. They seem to be more of an aftermarket company for diesel trucks and my build is a 2001 Tahoe w/ built 6.0L. I couldn't really find any reviews of their cold air intake for my setup or any 3rd gen Chevy small blocks for that matter.
Over the months since seeing their technical breakdown of their cold air intake, I couldn't help but buy one. I decided I'd throw my camera up there and record my experience installing it.
I made this first video installing it. Have a second video double checking fuel on my tune afterwards, and may do a third if anybody wants to review it's performance.
I'm already getting a real kick out of the change in engine noise! You can really hear that built 6.0L I have sucking in the air now! Super cool!!!!
Plus the quality is AMAZING. So much better quality than other cold air intakes I've owned. It's also quite a bit better than the factory setup as well which isn't always the case for aftermarket parts.
My setup is a GMT800 truck chassis with LQ9 / 6.0 L, however, this will work the same on any of the 3rd gen Chevy Small Blocks in the Chevy trucks.
FYI ~ I have a bit of a wondering mind. I'd love your subscription but this channel here is like my catch all for fixing stuff, reviewing stuff, and just things that don't fit elsewhere on KZbin.
