So it's like the Sprint Booster, but with more options/levels? It lets the electric throttle body open faster than stock. If I got it right? Nice video btw.

@@DjSubstain I'm not sure how this product works, I'm assuming it ramps the fuel more aggressively, but I do know for a fact that diesels do not use throttle bodies. They use fuel to ramp rpm, which is why they are so slow to respond to inputs

The concept is the same as the Spring device. However, there is one big difference.... SAFETY. No other throttle booster is connected via OBD like PedalMonster. This enables the device to know what speed and gear you're in. And, the module is powered by +12v from the OBD port, not the +5v pedal circuit. The pedal circuit in most vehicles doesn't have the current overhead to power a module other than the pedal itself. We built the PedalMonster as a response to seeing all the check engine lights caused by other devices.

Thanks for the compliments! Something to keep in mind is that not all cars that see track time are programmed the same way. Most new consumer-oriented cars and trucks have throttle enrichment delay built in. In other words, sponge pedal. Why? To save fuel. This device gives you the ability to dial in the sensitivity. You don't have to make it twitchy like Scott did.

Great video! but Why do these pedal fooler products even exist? Don't people have control over their right foot? I mean, your foot is already on the pedal. All you have to do is stomp on it harder if you need to go faster. You wanna enter "the eco fuel saving mode"? - feather it lightly.

Quite obviously the factory desensitizes the throttle input to the computer, making it easier for the costumer to avoid doing stupid shit through inattention or "don't care' mode. It probably makes that powertrain last longer too...Yeah, it sounds a bit 'big brother' Probably saves GM a ton in service under warranty costs as the typical customer is likely unaware of such products.

Seriously, I super don't get this. It goes between the pedal and ecu. It literally can't do anything that just shoving your foot into the pedal can't. The pedal isn't a digital device, it's analog, it does zero processing, all that happens in the ecu.

@@db-cd8hx , I purchased the pedal monster a month ago. All I can say is it's a whole new truck. Obviously it doesn't add any HP or TQ, but it could fool me. I've been running it in sport mode/level six. I don't go off road, but would suggest setting it back to stock for the adventure.

We said the very same thing for years. But then "dead pedal" became such an issue in 2017 with various full-size diesel that guys started buying throttle boosters. Again, we said, it doesn't add power, we're not going to make one. But we bought a few just to see what the hype was all about. And, just like you get hooked on drugs, once we drove our 2019 Ford F250, 2018 L5P, RAM 3.0L and others with boosters connected, we said, "Wait, there's actually something here." It allows you to get rid of the dead spot in many pedals... rather, that sponge feel. But again, we said... nah, we're not going to make one. We don't make parts that don't add power. But then one of our engineers cracked a few open for laughs and made a huge discovery. Not a single booster on the market had a single safety feature. We've been building Active Safety into every module since the late 90s. So, we made a throttle booster. The best one on the market. Do you need one? No. Does it make the car or truck more enjoyable to drive? It's easy to say no until you try one. Because that's exactly what happened to Gale.
@slyny14034 жыл бұрын
I have a BD diesel throttle pedal booster in 3 of my trucks. I'm sure banks just copied them like everyone else. But you can't get the same response by just mashing the pedal mine gives each truck way more low end power and smoother response. It's just like a tuned trigger on a gun you can say why would you need a 3 lb trigger when you can just pull a 13lb trigger they both will fire the gun but the 3lb trigger is more predictable. Once you get a throttle booster you will never want a vehicle without one.

First you have to understand how the acceleration system works before making this assumption. Then, you have to actually TRY the products to see the difference it makes. I don't understand how people can just dismiss something without fully understanding it first.
