I like that Gale isnt just slapping parts together instead he figures out which setup will work best for each application, I see plenty of people on their trucks with just a huge exhaust tip(stock size pipe behind it) and blowing out huge amounts of soot because they just dump fuel in the engine. On mine Ive almost doubled hp and don't blow much smoke at high load/rpm because I want power but also efficient use of that fuel.

Those little gear pumps running at such high rpm for the required flow seems like there should be a better answer. Maybe a variable displacement piston pump that’s pressure compensated would take the rpm better and conserve HP wen not turning? Or under drive it a tiny bit more and see if an accumulator and charge pump can be added to take care of high instant demand? Just thinking out loud to see if that makes sense.

I have a custom cold air intake, race pipe etc as well. How do you feel about CNG or propane injection? Tunezilla is saying propane will jack my EGT's and they do not recommend it? I only plan on using the propane on long trips. I deleted my DPF & EGR how can I make more power on my 2.0 TDI. I respect your work & admire your knowledge

So for drag racing since there are bump boxes would it be better to go super turbo or compound turbo?
@wiredforstereo4 жыл бұрын
I'm interested in the idea of the turbos pushing the supercharger. At a certain boost level, the supercharger would actually harvest power from the turbo air. I don't know how useful that would be, especially for a monster truck engine.

Is that even possible with diesel Fuel?!
@EdMiF4 жыл бұрын
@@Aseutester I remember seeing a diesel drag truck video a while ago, it revved pretty high...
@ReubenHorner4 жыл бұрын
@@Aseutester diesel itself actually burns really fast. The issue is the because it is fast burn it requires a strong engine to not become damaged. The reason diesels don't typically rev so high is because strong engine internals also weigh a lot so they require special oils and engine work for the bearings to survive the massive loads
@shadowwolf85954 жыл бұрын
Just look up diesel sled pulls and drag races you will hear plenty of diesels turning over 6k plus. Theres nothing like being in the arena when one of the 3.0 class sled pullers fire up and run though, that is one memory I will never forget.
@what94184 жыл бұрын
Reuben Horner That is not entirely true. The first bits of injected fuel mix, ignite and burn at the same time, so you get a huge pressure peak. However, as the injection proceeds, there is less and less air in the cylinder left to mix with so mixing time becomes slower. So the burn takes longer too. Just lookup diesel combustion phases. So at very high RPM the fuel still burns during exhaust cycle. This leads to very high EGT and melts exhaust valves and turbo. This is why diesels typically are limited to 5400 RPM in production cars. In a tuned application you could go to 6000 RPM and in dragging 7000+. But getting power at those revs is another story
