This has been one of my go-to comfort videos for years now. I finally went out and bought the meatloaf meal to truly live the experience, and man.....I hurt. This video has been the catalyst for my downfall. My hubris lies at my feet, shattered. The mechanically separated chicken and pork mush stands over me, victorious. I used to wish you'd put out more of these frozen food reviews. Now, I only hope you've recovered from the damage

The juxtaposition of the smooth jazz and lounge music, the overblown foley, and the off the cuff, unplanned footage is surreal, borderline avant garde, which just emphasizes the fact that this is a man eating budget, salt-laden meals for Internet hits. Love these videos so much.

Isn't, like, everything made from scratch if you go back far enough? If I buy a jar of tomato sauce and pour it over some pasta and tell my guests "It's been made from scratch... in the factory." they'd think I lost my mind

I think “made from scratch” starts when you’re the one adding all individual ingredients, right? So you can use a jar of pure tomatoes, that’s “from scratch” - it’s just you’re using a jar of tomatoes for your recipe. If someone else added parsley and garlic, and cooked those tomatoes into a sauce, and you bought tomato sauce, that’s not from scratch.

The main difference in ingredients between the salisbury steak and meat loaf that I'm seeing are eggs, milk, onions, tomato concentrate, distilled vinegar, and corn syrup, which are all in the meatloaf but not the salisbury steak. The eggs and milk will give the meatloaf a more spongy texture, which I would guess is actually a good thing compared to the solid yet soft texture of the salisbury steak. The onions, tomato concentrate, and corn sryup should add a sweetness and the distilled vinegar a sourness that will together add a ton of flavor. So I'm not surprised that the meatloaf ultimately tasted better.
@Sam-lr9oi

Anyone out there remember “boil in bag” Banquet meals? I think they were .50 cents each, .33 when on sale. My mom would throw 10 of different varieties in a pot of boiling water and set a loaf of white bread on the table. Like a buffet: maybe I’ll start with turkey and gravy on toast, follow it up with sliced beef and gravy on toast and then top it off with chipped beef gravy on toast. I honestly miss those mid-eighties dinners with my family.

I love the incredibly cheap quality justification. But hold up... 'made from scratch marinara'?! What does that mean?! Obviously it was made from scratch at SOME point. There's no marinara fountain that you could've pulled from. I mean, generally 'made from scratch' only applies to people who are at home, not using pre-made, store bought products. It doesn't count if you're made from scratch when you ARE the store bought product!

Yeah, not surprisingly they're no where near a proper home cooked version, and they're honestly not what I'd choose on a really tight budget, but they do a decent job of being what they are. It's a hot meal that's quick, cheap, easy, and has a decent variety of options. Definitely shouldn't live off of them but in a pinch it resembles food and will leave you less unsatisfied than if you didn't eat.

I love this shit Ian.Stuff like this, televoid, and all the other strange things you've been up too really seem to let your creative personality shine through, and when your personality shines through and it's clear that you're enjoying it is when you're at your best. You've made a permanent subscriber out of me.

21:47 He booted up Rollercoaster Tycoon and made a coaster called "Spaghetti And Meatballs 1" that likely just ended abruptly so that the coaster would fly off and crash just for this 1 second gag.

I just realized something: Watching a Brutalmoose video is like watching an episode of Bill Nye, except raunchy, and he reviews dollar value frozen meals.

Funny you say that, as in a lot of Bill Nye's newer shows he's much raunchier than in his older work. Not to say his humor is over the top raunchy, but I mean he used to work on a kid's show. Anything is dirtier than a kid's show.

I meant, like, watching the old Bill Nye show. It's like THAT, but raunchier.
