When I play Soviet in RA3 it always remind me the Harkonnen. They have very similar tactic such as Twin Blades carrying Apocalypses and some anti-infantry then delivered at the enemy's backyard, it like Carryals carring Devastators and flame tanks then dropped into middle of enemy base. The reasons why I love Harkonnen: first is Gunship, second is Assault Tank, third is Missile Tank, and fourth of course it's Devastator. I love Harkonnen Force.

+AndrewtheDuke It's my all time favorite Dune faction. In 2000, it's the Devastator that resembled Mammoth Tank that got my heart and then in Emperor there is Missile Tank. Existence of Missile Tank is somewhat a revolutionary of RTS game unit IMO. Most of the ground unit in RTS game usually is all about DPS or DOT but Missile Tank presents Alpha Damage which is very unusual for ground unit (special ability likes Star Craft 2 Thor's barrage doesn't count). Missile Tank doesn't only take out a lesser unit in a single attack but also a tough one likes Minotaurus, and there is no vehicle can withstand more than 2 volleys from Missile Tank without veterancy.

Personally in terms of size I do believe the Devastator easily outwieghts and therefore could crush the Apocalypse tank. Especially if the Apocalpyse was stupid enough to use Magnetic Harpoon. The real question I have is which is faster? Cause if the Apoc can outmaneuver the Devastator's Plasma Cannons, the Apoc has the advantage. Whew, long post!

well in the original dune game, the devastator was a huge tank like the mammoth tank i.e. 4 sets of treads and twin 120mm cannon. This is a westwood game so by traditional, there is always going to be a super heavy tank like the mammoth, emperor, mammoth mk 2 and this devastator, which is another spin of the mammoth mk 2.

If I made a "Dune 5" game, I would replace House Ordos with House Corrino, with the Ordos being a subhouse. Atreides would be the good guys, Harkonnens would be evil, and the Corrino would be the gray faction.

+JackWProductions Because Ordos is a (literally) fictional house in Dune universe, in other word, House Ordos doesn't exist in the first place. As for House Corrino, it's where the emperor in Dune 2000 came from, and also plays major role in the novel. Ordos does exist in the encyclopedia but not in the novel origin dune.wikia.com/wiki/House_Ordos BTW, if the story gonna continue from the last moment of this game then it must be obliterated by either Atreides or Harkonnen, or there is corruption inside the house itself (after they enthroned the Ghola emperor) that reduced Ordos from great house to a subhouse.

I would love to make a sequel to this game, a veritable “Dune 5”. The Atreides and Harkonnens would return, but House Ordos would be replaced by a resurgent House Corrino… the in-game explanation being the Corrino heir razed the Ordos homeworld in retribution for the Ordos murdering the Emperor. The subfactions would be the Fremen, the Ixians, the Bene Tlielax, the Smugglers, and the remnants of House Ordos. The Atreides would be balanced (with the best aircraft), the Harkonnens subversive (with the best vehicles and mechs), and the Corrinos would be the powerhouse (with the best infantry, since they regained the Sardaukar).
