Thank you for posting this. I purchased a dm-1701 earlier in the year as an inexpensive entry to dmr, then later picked up an older version of the 878 which I have been using more. There aren't too many repeaters nearby this setup up brings me into the dmr world everything works great. 73. W8GAN

I have just completed following your tutorial, it worked really well. I tried the parrot channel on Private to hear how I sounded , it was the first time I have spoken on a radio, I need to get a little used to it. Is the volume level on the radio used as the hotspot set to its lowest usually? I tried the keying part at the end of your tutorial and I heard some Hams in USA and New Zealand very clearly.

Nice to hear my tutorial worked. You can have the volume level whatever way you want on the Hotspot. I have mine on the lowest as it will save more battery, since all the comms will be heard only on the handheld you are receiving + transmitting. It sounds like you are all set & ready to go with this setup, hope you make lots of great contacts.

@@mutezone Yes your tutorial worked very well, I used it on Windows 11 v22H2 (current) Thank you I will use the lowest volume on the hotspot radio too.

Just curious to know if another DMR radio to transmit is required or if you can use any radio on the frequency of the hotspot to transmit?

I have seen somebody do a transmission to a Hotspot with a non-DMR radio, although never tried it myself.

Hi this is Thomas KI4CMX, i cant see the dm1701 port number, but iam able to write and read to the radio, i wonder if someone can help me solve this problem.

Check to see if it is in another heading in Device Manager, eg it might be in "Human Interface Devices" or "Sound, video and game controllers".
