One of the best displays I've seen so far for a GMRS mobile. Nice to have different colors to indicate different settings.

Thank you for taking the time to watch and the comment! It is greatly appreciated. I agree. There is a benefit to color coding things.

Best explanation video I've seen on this radio. I do have this radio. I purchased the cable my manual said to get to download Chirp. So far, I have not been successful. Not sure if computer is not up to date or what. I've tried to put in the offset to some repeaters and have had no luck. I can hear people talking but I can't make any contact. I have a Tram outdoor base antenna.

everyone on fourms and notarubicon says hes only ever gotten about 39 watts out of this. interesting to see it going pretty much to 50 watts on here wonder why thre is such a differnence on power output.

Thank you for taking the time to watch and the comment! It is greatly appreciated. If memory serves, I have never had 2 chinese radios put out the same power.

Just got mine and really like. SWR is right on point with a Nagoya UT-72G antenna. The wattage seems or feels off. I was getting a wattage of 61-63 on high power on channel 15 through 20. Low power on channel 1-7 was around 5.3-6.7 watts. The meter used is the Surecom SW-33 MK2. Any ideas would be helpful.

I got the radio today and installed it in my truck, and it works great right out of the box. Does it have to be powered up to use Chirp? If so, I'll have to use a laptop out in my truck. Sorry for the silly question, I'm a newbie.

I wonder if I could connect this to a surecom 112 and make this radio a 50 watt simplex repeater?

When I hit the V/M button while on GMRS channel 16, what should the frequency that pops up on that channel be? I was getting some number like 560.990 or whatever. It wasn't the 462.xxx number like you're showing on your screen.
@WJ6FRadio3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for taking the time to watch and the comment! It is greatly appreciated. The Frequency that shows up for channel 16 (GMRS 16) on my radio is 462.575.

@@WJ6FRadio Thank you!!! Gonna change mine to that number to see what happens. I've been using software to program it over the last day. I sent a screenshot of it to the vice president of AZGMRS to see what he thinks of the data set. Hopefully, he'll see what's coded on the stations and can help me patch into the repeaters around here by updating the software and loading it into the radio. We'll see how it goes! I'm sure I'll be back on your channel looking at something else soon. You're pretty easy to follow. You make a lot of sense! haha! You explain it so that even guys that are on their first radio get it!

Can you do a video showing how to program channels manually on the radio itself instead of using the computer?
@vinniec52863 жыл бұрын
Thank you for this video. I am curious, when you set the tone squelch for 462.675, it appears that you set it for the simplex frequency and not the repeater. Did you mean to do that or perhaps I am missing something? I don't have any GMRS repeaters in my local area, so I have not used that function yet.
