Awesome video David! Just FYI, even if you leave channels 7-14 on high power, the Wouxun KG-UV9GX (and UV9G PRO) will still only allow low power on those channels to comply with FCC regulations. It's still a great practice to learn those regulations and program as such, but if you forget to, at least on this radio, you'll still be in compliance. :) Also, just a hot tip for your viewers: save a second copy of your default file (with the current name or a date) before you even do any editing, just in case you accidentally save the file before you've renamed and saved it, so you don't accidentally overwrite the original pre-programming. :)

That's awesome angel. Our three main repeaters are Live Oak, Camp Bullis and NB. All tones are 100. Go to alamocitygmrs.com for details on our setup. Bryan Womack runs the FB group which is San Antonio GMRS I believe. I'm WRZU993 David and I monitor channel 30 "725" in NB. We also own Integrity Window Tinting in NB and Spring Branch. Nice to meet ya. There's a lot of local folks around here that are always talking. I also have a 9px and 9gx, along with a crapload more smaller radios for videos. Take a look at the newest weeks. There's more since you saw that one.

Absolutely new to the gmrs game all I know is a have a baofeng gm15 and just got my callsign. Now I feel like my ht is in listen only mode and I have no idea where to proceed. Point me to the right video because I apparently need an adult to help teach me!

Sorry for the delay.... There could be a lot of things that aren't set up correctly. For starters, are you trying to talk on a repeater? If so, and you are not getting that "kerchunk" sound back when you let go, either you are too far away, or you don't have the correct tone stored for that repeater. Answer: Go to MyGMRS.com and register with them to make sure you have the right tone. Maybe when you key up, you hear a "buzzer" sound on that channel or frequency? If so, the radio is not allowed to transmit in that particular range. Answer: (what is the frequency if so?), and look up some KZbin videos on how to unlock the radio. (I'm not telling you to unlock it and transmit on HAM bands by any means!) Those are the two questions I have for you for now. What exactly is the radio doing, and what channels or frequencies are you on? Does it do it on all channels? Did you buy a two pack? If so, seperate the radios apart at least 5-10' from each other and then talk. Sometimes the radios are too close together to hear transmission. Let me know.

Really appreciate this info. I am able to load of the repeaters part but when I get to the repeater book section I can not for the life of me copy and paste any of it for some reason . I’m out in your area and trying to load up Fayetteville county and Harris county but it will not let me. It won’t even let me hand type the info in. I have the TIDradio H-3. Any suggestions ?

Can you give me any specifics on a particular repeater you can't copy? Just so we're on the same page, in Chirp, you opened Repeaterbook, typed the county, clicked the proper boxes, and some of them showed up, but you can't copy those and paste them into your "active" Chirp radio file?

So basically everything was good to go from MyGMRS. Everything worked as far as adding the repeaters in and around schulenburg and Houston . It was when I went into RepeaterBook and tried to copy anything from say in Fayette county ( around schulenburg ) or Harris County and if I tried to copy and paste those it wouldn’t let me. It was saying something along the line of I couldn’t config to those frequencies .

@SteepleviewfarmTX Something like that will occur if you try to copy and paste DMR frequencies into a radio that does not allow DMR. Make sure you are only copying the frequencies your radio can communicate with. Hopefully that's it.

Ok, all I have is a laptop. On my Tidradio HR-3(I also found the Flint repeater at 462.725, tone at 141.3 HZ), I went to #32 on the menu to change the tone. It wouldn’t change…. It says 1750HZ….
