I grew up at 701 Joseph St in the 70s and 80s, half a block from Mr Ron and they were nice neighbors, really good people. I played with his son Matthew growing up, we were about the same age. I do remember Danny but he was a baby. Then around 10 years old I moved away, not too far but far enough to no longer see them again besides the occasional Mr Ron and his wagon around the city. I thought nothing of it back then but now to see the Taffy man and the Tree of Life and many other amazing things from my childhood being recognized as staples to the city of New Orleans I appreciate where I was raised and my experiences so much more than I ever did.
