That's cool and clean, a could years ago I did a DIY with the roto pax mount and same 3 inch bolts and a 1900 electrical box cover, I didn't even know they had anything like that. Love your builds and hope to see more

Nice but I'd be worried about a leak with the spout on the bottom like that.
@BaptismOverland

Haven't had any. I've tested it A LOT. Lol. And before I mount it up I always turn it upside down over the sink to make sure it's good. You just gotta make sure it's sealed tightly and that you replace any washers that might get worn after awhile

I like the idea of having the rotopax inside the car then outside.
@BaptismOverland
@BaptismOverland 3 жыл бұрын
Exactly! Cuz on the outside the heat will make it hot or the cold might freeze it.

Thinking of getting the 2 gallon rotopax but live in the city now. So no vandalism is committed, do you have any locking solutions for the sprout?

What are the measurements on the mount? Thinking it might work with the roll bar I have in the bed of my JT.🤔
@BaptismOverland
@BaptismOverland 3 жыл бұрын
I don’t know but it’s adjustable so it should fit. I gave the mount away because I now have a roof rack that uses the roll cage. I then fabricated this mount to fit that new roof rack mount

Have the Rotopax bracket welded to the Garvin!
@BaptismOverland
@BaptismOverland Жыл бұрын
Great idea! I actually don't have this setup anymore since I switched roof racks to front runner. It has a bracket that goes inside the vehicle and attaches to the roll cage so I couldn't use the Garvin bracket. But I used some the parts and attached it to that front runner bracket. So the rotopax is still there in the same spot but now it's mounted to the roof rack bracket

Hey bud, if you go with the Rhino you won't have to change anything as it is along the hardtop and is only mounted on the top of the roll bar from what I remember. As a curious question when the water jug is mounted how far into the back does it come in. Reason why I'm asking is that I have a system for the back of my Jeep and the fridge is on that side. Thanks
@BaptismOverland
@BaptismOverland 3 жыл бұрын
The mount for Garvin is actually very close to the top. It’ll def run into it
@msreiser
@msreiser 3 жыл бұрын
Can't you flip the Rotopax upside down and point the cap back to the rear of your Jeep to get the angle you wanted for a spout mod? +1 on the Rhino Rack comment.

Anyone have a spout that doesn’t leak for the Rotopax?
@BaptismOverland
@BaptismOverland Жыл бұрын
Yes! The best thing I've ever done for the rotopax is upgrade to the GoWesty spout. You do have to maneuver it and make sure it's tight to prevent leaks but it has allowed me to turnt he rotopax upside down and now I have water with the twist of a knob. I WILL say though that after having it for 3 years now, one of the o-rings has broken and I need it replaced (you just reminded me I need to contact them lol)
@CraigG21
@CraigG21 Жыл бұрын
@@BaptismOverland thank you for the response! I was quite hesitant on the GoWesty after reading some of the comments/reviews on it. Encouraged your experience has been good for 3 years!
@BaptismOverland
@BaptismOverland Жыл бұрын
@@CraigG21 Well it's great but as I mentioned, you REALLY have to finagle that thing to make sure it's tight. I've had some leaks until you really get it to where it's tight or that the spout isn't crooked. When it works, it works awesome lol. I've gotten used to how to really put it on there. BUT if you find something even better, LET ME KNOW! I'm always willing to try other solutions.

@@BaptismOverland I may go with a pump system that would work better for my hitch carrier mounted Rotopax better. The container would be mounted upright, minimizing the chance of any spills, and I would just install the pump/outlet once at camp. Looking at the system by LoneRockConcepts, which is a bit more expensive that the GoWesty.
@BaptismOverland
@BaptismOverland Жыл бұрын
@@CraigG21 Looking it up now! Lol. I have to see if I can do a pump system as my rotopax doesn't have much room at the top (as you saw in this video). It's actually even higher now because I took off this mount after I got the Front Runner roof rack and I mounted the rotopax mount directly to my Front Runner brackets that holds the rack in place from the inside.

Thanks so much for the video man! Question for you, would this work with a soft top? (JKU) I don't mind putting the Rotopax container after the roof is down or up... Meaning removing the rotobax when folding the top. Would the bracket for this setup interfere with the soft top? 🤔 Tks so much
@BaptismOverland

Yes it should! In fact in their product page, the photos of it IS on a soft top! I've loved it so far man.
