Obamas unique gaps in his speech are just him pausing and thinking about what he's going to say before he says it, a quality too many people lack nowadays
@asabifatosin11506 жыл бұрын
James Durham What else makes it noticeable is that he doesn’t fill up the pauses with “uhs” and “likes” and “ums”...
@tkisilu6 жыл бұрын
Automatic replies by THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES is not a sign of confidence, but a sign of fear. Obama had a lot of pressure, and a lot that he wanted to implement and change...his pauses are admirable, as opposed to the instant replies that President Trump gives out without any second though as to the consequences that will occur as a result. THINK, then speak. The world will be better for it.

For you to really point fingers at Obama for lying and faking empathy is beyond me. Also, if you listen carefully, this video is about his own personal experience and his opinion, so there is no reason to lie or fake emotion. If someone is manifesting their racism through politics, or their politics produce racist outcomes, then yes, their racism is political, and their politics are racist. In light of that, it's super funny that after saying something so obviously illogical, to say nothing of being completely unsupported by evidence, you then accuse liberals of being narrow-minded and oblivious. Alex Heinrichs I just can't imagine Trump could sit and talk like this, calm and relaxed. Trump has a short attention span, and he's definitely not as intelligent and humble as Obama is. Sadly, I think this will be a nightmare. Trump doesn't know anything about politics, and that's not why he wanted to become the president. It's for the money, power and admiration, can you even fathom how big of a disaster this can turn out to be, I can't. This is bad for the whole world. I'm sad that the democrats during these 8 years didn't tell the people what Obama actually has accomplished. They let the republicans bad mouthing him so people began to hate him for no reason. No president will be perfect, and wall street money makes it hard to make real changes for the people, because they have obligations to corporations. But I doubt Trump will do anything good for the people, he doesn't know how, he's just a dumb narcissist.

There will always be people disagreeing with policies. But he got the country through an intense financial crisis, he allowed for diplomacy with former enemies, he hunted down bin laden, he made healthcare available for countless of people. Maybe you haven't felt much of this, but ask a poorer person, that couldn't even pay their treatments a few years ago, you'll hear a lot of positive things. Or allied countries, like Europe, pretty much any politican here actually respects Obama greatly (contrary to both the guys that came before and after)

To be fair, most Obama-haters are Bush-lovers. Obama had a huge mess on his hands the day he took office, that wasn't his fault. I dont agree with his greenlighting of NSA mass surveillance, or the amount of drone strikes under his name, but times change. Obamacare is a good plan, it just needs time and more people signing up for it to succeed. The US really needs a good healthcare system. Getting rid of it at the halfway point is just a shame. In the future Obama might hopefully be credited with a good healthcare system. All in all, he wasn't the best president, but you have to look at the amount of shit he had to deal with under his presidency. Bush could bomb entire nations if he wanted to and still hold the respect of many Americans. I think Obama being black *MIGHT* have had something to do with it, as racism still exists no matter how low key people try to act on it.

I'm a republican and was an unapologetic Bush supporter (saying that just for context), and I am constantly reminded of how Pres. Obama carried himself and attempted to engage the other side of the aisle with sincerity and integrity. I'm quite certain a majority of my party did not realize how fortunate we were to have him in office for 8 years. Despite our disagreements over how to run a country, we could've take better advantage of his time in office to really get somewhere together as a country.

Regardless of how we all feel about Barack Obama and what he did/didn't accomplish while as President, can we at least all agree that OVERALL (cause every President does have some failures) the United States of America is in a better place because of his presidency? I am a democrat but I will put political bias aside for this critique (for the most part). Yes, ObamaCare did have its problems, the national debt nearly doubled, Guantanamo Bay has still not been closed, ISIS became a military problem, North Korea is a bigger threat than ever, and shootings are seen as a bigger/more common problem in our society today. Also, he pledged to bring the political parties in Congress together and be a unifier President, but (whether it was his policies or the decisions by the Congress) that didn't happen. There were plenty of failures during the last 8 years, even his biggest supporters won't deny that. With that said, he does have many accomplishments, even with these failures; millions of people now have healthcare, Osama Bin Laden and many terrorist leaders are dead, the wars started by George W. Bush ended, Guantanamo Bay's prison population has been reduced to only a handful, and race-issues can't just be ignored like they used to be in our society. The unemployment rate is lower than it was during George W. Bush's 2nd term, the auto, banking, and housing industries have recovered from the greatest crisis since the 1930s, we have begun re-establishing relations with Cuba and Iran for the 1st time in decades, and the U. S. brought the whole world together on global climate change agreements. Furthermore, every LGBT citizen can legally marry, more states have legalized medicinal marijuana, women's pay wage gaps have decreased, he put 2 women on the Supreme Court, and millions of Hispanic and Islamic immigrants have become citizens. These were a lot of difficult issues to deal with in just 8 years, and even when the majority of politicians and citizens disagreed with this man he never gave up trying to make our country better despite many setbacks. Overall, was Barack Obama a perfect President? No, I will admit that he did have some failures, though he shouldn't be blamed for every bad thing that happened during his Presidency. Is the country as a whole better off now than it was in January of 2009? Yes, but we still have more we need to come together on (Democrats, Republicans, and Independents) to keep making progress to improve the lives of every American. Finally, in terms of being the 1st African-American President, he did the best he could despite the prejudice and racism he faced. Plus, regardless whether you personally liked this man or not, he leaves office with a decent approval rating with more people liking him than those that don't. While we don't know how many of his accomplishments or failures will be remembered in the near future, as a whole Barack Obama will be seen as the 1st African-American President that made this country better than it was when he started despite opposition and uncertainty; that (in my opinion) will be his legacy!

The coolest fucking president ever! I can't wait till he can speak uncensored about his thoughts on the country and the world. Such a statesman and patient progressive. How awesome for Trevor to be able to have such stimulating conversation with the President. I get the feeling they will hang out at some point without the cameras.

patrick watkins Yes he was. A pioneer, having visited 57 states and bringing mandatory Healthcare purchases in which many lost their doctors and we're forced to pay heavily-increased premiums/deductibles.

Harry Doyle i could be wrong but aren't there only 50 states? and wasn't healthcare mandatory before he came into office? it's not exactly a stupid move it may not have worked for some but it did work for others, for me personally if there was no obamacare i would have been screwed.

Don't count U.S. out yet. We've had awful Presidents before. The bigots think they're a silent majority... I think a lot of folks weren't attending during the last election. More people chose not to vote versus voting for either candidate. Those non-voters are paying attention now, they've seen what happens when half the population checks out of the political process. Hopefully, the equation will be different during the next mid term and primary season... and we get two decent candidates to choose from

the most amazing thing about this interview is that there was only one question asked for 7:32 minutes of interview and trevor summarized it brilliantly and what can we say about Obama he nailed it. he cracked the question inch by inch while answering amazing Obama. he will be remembered generation after generation! and yah trevor also could run the administration brilliantly , I think he should take the chance of running the campaign in near future

I was not a fan of President Obama and I must say over the last 2 years he's really changed my opinion of him. I appreciate that he tries very hard to choose his words wisely and it was quite obvious to me here that he continues to do so. I think that is very important and will be sorely missed in the next few years.
