Part of the problem with insurance is people don't protect their properties like they used to. My neighborhood isn't in a canyon, there are many ways out that aren't surround by brush. Yet people just leave when a fire comes, they don't water down their property, they don't take in their patio furniture. They just run and let their stuff burn. This is why insurance is going up.. Because nobody takes any responsibility. In the 80's it was different everybody had wood shingle roofs... every man had a hose out watering his property and we didn't lose one house.. Last time only 10% stayed and several were lost or damaged and nobody has a wood shingle roof anymore.

The fastest way to rebuild is to clear debris and make boxable villages with an underground sisterns. . Should be able to put up a couple of thousand 500+ square foot studio homes . The down side is you have to get Elon Musk to prioritize half the Los Vegas producton facility to rebuild Southern California. If all new homes cost 1/10 of what used to . The insurance and tax burden on the people will be way lower . That should be doable in under a year . Elon should prioritize Republican districts first .

Well we still in Texas that had one of the worst fires in Texas last year on February 27, 2024,we still don’t have stuff built back, still trying to settle with insurance, which is difficult and FEMA never came here, Thank God for people that has money that can rebuild, but sad for ones that can’t, thank God I only lost 6 buildings but my house was saved but everything else burned completely up, so my heart goes out for those that was in the fires cause I know how they feel, something you will never get over, I am praying for all that is involved.
